Default info on 638

Ive been esearching more about different engines to put in chevelles and i wanna go big or go home. i wanna eventually build a 638 from the ground up. are there any manufacturers that sell just the bare block? and where would i go for headers? i was looking at hooker but i didnt know if i needed to get higher performance since most of the ones on there are for small blocks and 454. thanks for the inputs

You may want to check out Dart, they seem to do a lot of big blocks, a friend of mine got a 540 5 years ago.

I would highly recommend Dart. The reps you talk to when you call are pretty knowledgeable and are more than willing to help. Look up some of the posts from my experience in buying my Dart 400.

And you will know that it is made in the USA. It was really nice that Dart was a 10 min ride from my house. We toured where they built the motors and it was really cool.
