1955 Chevrolet Belair
Sorry but I don't have a Chevelle. My grandfather bought this sedan on December 23, 1954. He passed away in 1976 and the car went to my father. My father passed away in 1986. I've had the car ever since. |

I have to say again what a beautiful car that is. We had a 55 Nomad when I was a kid. I was only 7 when my father died and the Nomad is the car I associate with him. My mother had other cars after that but they were just cars.
I still remember my father and grandfather patching the rust and repainting it. Right after that we went on a family vacation in it. We pulled into a motel parking lot and a sewer cover flipped up and mashed the rocker panel right at the front fender/door seam. Couldn't even open the driver's door. I was pretty young but I know my father was pissed after all the work they had just done on the car. |
