Default Front springs

Been fighting the way the the Chevelle sits with the new front springs in it. Something just was not correct, infact it was 3" to high with the motor in it. So I went back and looked at my receipt and the numbers seem to be for a 70Cutlass 442 heavy duty, with air. Anyone know the height difference in the springs between the two car. My car doesn't have air so it looks like I get to tear the front end apart again.

Okay, you probably already know but I have to ask. Were all the front control arm bolts loose when you dropped the car down and installed the engine? Tightening the bolts with the suspension hanging will preload the bushings and they'll hold the front end up.

I wouldn't think a 442 with AC would be that much heavier than a BBC non-AC. Some, but not 3 inches worth.

None of the front end is tighten down, just the ball joints. We have tried to bounce it up and down but it doesn't drop down at all. It's just too stiff. In this picture you can see how high the fender opening is above the tire. I have had preloaded it with weights and it doesn't come down. Looks like a truck setup.
