Question Black or white vinyl top?

Right now, my car is all red with black stripes and I've been contemplating the idea of having a vinyl top put on my car for a while now, if fact I've already bought all the vinyl top specific mouldings. All that's left is to make up my mind as to which color between black or white should I go with but it's hard to take a decision because either option would look good.
If I go with a black top, I can either leave the rest of the car as is (keeping the black stripes) or have the stripes done in white…or…if I go with a white top, I can also keep the black stripes or have them done in white…
I'm asking about this because I find there are a lot of red/black stripes cars and would like something a little different…
Also I wonder who sells the best material to do the vinyl top?

Claude.

(P.S: I'm leaning towards a white top because there are so many red Chevelles with black vinyl tops…)

It is all up to you. Both look great.

I got blue with black stripes and top. All my cars are done that way it is just me.
My buddy on the other hand blue with white top and stripes. That is the way most of his were.

SMS is where you get quality vinyl tops, but the color will be your decision.

Thanks "smoke em II" and "chevymaher" for your replies. I looked at SMS's site and I'm wondering what's the correct grain for our cars?… Could it be "Levant" ?

Claude.

Stripe matched the top and interior back in the day. White looks good at first, but is hard to keep up. I like the black also.

That's what I thought but after doing a little researching I found out that you could have almost any combination of interior color, stripes and vinyl top... I find that there are too many red cars like mine with black tops so this is why that right now I'm tempted to keep my black interior but go with white stripes and white vinyl top...

Not sure if you know this, but some southern cars would have the vinyl molding on and the top was painted white and no vinyl. Hank has this on his gold 70 and it looks good and gets a lot of positive comments.

I had a 64 GTO that I got from Kentucky and it was a light brown with painted white top back in 72.

I have seen Nova's, and Chevelles at car shows with a white painted top.
