Default Last Cruise, First.....

Today was probably the last "official" cruise of the season for us. So we went to the Clawson car cruise and it was really fun.

First thing as we were driving into the park, I saw an old friend and his wife, Wayne and Cindy were parked in the very first parking spot. It was nice to see them. After maneuvering the trees we backed into our spot and just enjoyed the day. Of course there was the voting process which was a piece of paper that had all the silly/fun categories. So we walked around and filled it out.

Of course what USMA car show doesn't have a 50/50 draw, and anyone that knows me knows that I can't resist buying those tickets, so I did. Then later I had my son run up and buy more. When they called the number I saw my son running up to the front, sure enough I won. Cool.

About an hour later they did another 50/50. And lightning struck twice, I won that one too. Even cooler.

So now it is time for the silly/fun awards. The second one they called was "Vehicle that the Blues Brothers would most likely pull up in", they called David Jeep. It was cool, but not sure it was the right one cause another one of the categories was "Vehicle you would want to cross the desert in" and a Camaro won that one? I think that someone had too much to drink when counting the ballots. lol

So I figured it was time to go back and sit down. Then they call my name as "Best 70"s Cruiser". What? Was I hearing that wrong? I go to these shows not expecting to win anything (but deep down we all want to win something). I was so surprised !!!

So this was a great day. Sad that it is probably the last cruise of the year, but I won my first trophy for the car.

Hope everyone else had a great day !

I take that congrats as a compliment from you guys. I don't have the pristine cars that you guys do. I just have a car that I like and enjoy. I am still geeked. It was so much fun, and when they called my name a lot of people screamed and whistled and clapped like they really knew me. Maybe I talked to a lot more people than I usually do. lol

Congratulations to you and Dave. Sounds like it was a great day, better than mine for sure. All that hard work that went into the Chevelle paid off.

We usually use the laptop to size the pics, it's the one with the program we like, and the dang thing is having problems charging. I will post a pic of my "cheezy" trophy, maybe later tonight, gotta find the camera, might still be in the Chevelle. Thanks for all the kind words guys. It was a fun day, and the kids are still talking about it.

I love that car. I have always told people that I will probably still have it til the day I die. And I also know that I will always want to do more to it, til the day I die.

And yes it is nice to have someone notice all your work. Thank you.
