Default new outside mirrors

on a 69 Malibu, do the inside door panels have to come off to reinstall new outside OEM mirrors? the car has aftermarket mirrors on it now. I assume all of the 69-72 chrome mirrors I can buy online are all the same for that year ? thanks

No they don't have to come off unless it is a inside remote option. There is a metal brace that screws to the door. The mirror attaches to that.

I got my drivers mirror off so it don't get nailed walking by. My mirrors are a 69 model. They don't sell 68 mirrors for both sides so I went with 69 why not half my cars chrome and windsheild is 69 stuff.

Anywho I can snap a pic of it if you want.

oh ok. thanks. I think the 68 mirrors are round and 69 square correct? thanks chevymaher. its just less work. I will have to replace the arm rests on the doors too but that not a big deal to do those. the inside of car is white, or parchment

well, I got new mirrors for $60, however, after 3 weeks, I still don't have my car. I am now on my 2nd shipper. so frustrating. seller has been really cooperative. shoot, he could have hidden or taken the car, and my money. but this snowbird silliniess leaves everyone else out in the cold. car is in Albany, NY, and I am in Kansas city. I am about ready to just go up there and drive the old thing back, if I knew it would make 1200 miles.

Thats what i would do too.
Make a road trip out of it.
Perhaps there are spare parts you can spot when there.

OMG. its 1200 miles each way, that would be 2400 miles round trip. that don't sound like a lot of fun.
