Default Snow, ice, freezing temperature

Snow, ice, freezing temperature. Welcome to winter in Michigan !! Yesterday we had a beautiful snow fall which started in the morning. It was in the mid 30's so the snow was wet and the roads turned to slush. Then the temps dropped and last night it turned to ice.

I went out in the snow yesterday morning in my van so it was pretty cleaned off. Last night I needed to go to the store and decided to take my car. I am really glad that I have a remote start on my car, cause I honestly don't think that I would have been able to get into it. 3-4 inches of slush that turned to ice by the time I went out. I let the car run for 10 minutes before I could get the door open, and it took another 10 minutes before I could get it cleared off enough to drive.

How much do you love the snow ?

I HATE it ,its snowing here at work now .Its cold and the wind cuts right to the bones .Todays high is going to be 30 with wind chills in the teens .The actual temp is in the low teens currently with 30 mph gusts .This is Georgia and were not used to this stuff .

My son and I shoveled the drive in the morning, about an inch of slush and an inch of snow. Wanted to get it off before it froze. Then we shoveled another inch of slush and 3 inches of snow. Too sloppy for the snow blower so we had to do it by hand. The drive is close to 100' long, 2 car wide and widens to about 30' for the last 30'. I'm too old for this shit.

Oh, that nice pad I made for the motorhome next to the drive, guess I didn't think it through. It's across from the garage doors so all the snow from that area has to pushed a long ways to get it off the drive.

I don't know what's out there right now. Have to get my boots to get the paper then we'll see. Hope it's stuff that will come off with the snow blower.

EDIT: Well I went and got the paper and it doesn't look too bad. I can see the blacktop in spots where the wind blew the snow away. A little drifting around the house, but baby it's cold out there, wind chills are around -20.

I think you are getting all the moisture we have been having. We are 8" above normal for rain and more is on the way.

I spent a couple hours this morning cleaning off what was left. Think I need to get new rubber paddles for the snowblower, it's leaving 1/2" of snow, use to clean to the pavement. Actually I think I need a plow, to hell with the snowblower.

I've shoveled plenty a driveways. I figured you'd have a gas powered snow removal device of some sort for such a task, man.
