New Truck
Been looking at buying a new truck. Got it down between a Chevrolet 1500 Silverado and the GMC Sierra. Looked at Ford and Toyota and decide no. I have a Tundra I have had for 10 years. This most likely will be my last truck I buy before I retire in 6 years. I'm leaning toward the GMC. They're having a great sale on them and I like the look better. Any have the GMC?

I hear you about the payment. Haven't had one for over ten years. Most I have gone is a couple of years then I pay it off. I have enough to put down to keep the payment very low. I looked at the Colorado, had the seat back all the way and that gave about a foot of leg room in the back. Lol. Just found a 2014 GMC with 8k on it and can save another 10k on the price. Going to go look at it today. Need something that will tow my car trailer better.

GMC/Chevy pretty much the same. GMC has a little nicer interior and a different front grill. Beyond that it's the same chassis, engine, trans. I have 2 neighbors and a good friend with GMC's, they all like them. I had 2 Chevy's and my son has a 2013 he likes. If you want to haul things the Duramax diesel is a great engine, cost some bucks though. For occasional the gas V8 is a good solid engine. The new ones have every option a car has and ride better than a lot of small cars.

Duramax is a good engine. Around here diesel cost more then premium gas and an oil change is now around $100 bucks with all the additives. But just to pull a car trailer a few hundred miles a year and drive it back and forth to work is not worth the extra 5 grand or more it cost. Owned 2 diesel truck and hated the maintenance cost on them. Both trucks went through the transmission several times and the turbo had issues. Not a GM product. For that reason I'm staying with gas. The one I'm looking at has all the options. I like the grill and interior on the GMC better. Plus the 10k in rebates right now.

Bought a new F150 Super Crew STX Sport a few months ago. Love the 360hp 5.0L!!
And you could camp out in the back seat. Although owned GMCs in the past, just not a fan personally of the exaggerated fender flare stamping styling on the latest Chevy/GMC trucks.

I have a 2014 GMC Sierra. I have had it for 6 months and have 12000 miles on it. Its a nice truck. The issues I have is that the upper dash panels vibrates, seems to be a common problem and the dealer wont fix it. And the tires wont balance, vibrates like crazy at highway speeds and the dealer wont fix that either, they tried once and said sorry nothing we can do.
Over all its a nice truck. Super quiet. I had to get used to all the display options. The six speed trans is another thing I have to get used to with all the shifting. When you want to pass or get on it , it has a mind of its own and drops down hard. |

The Silverado gets my vote. I have always wanted one.
