Nice pictures, Ray! Thanks for sharing.

I just got my roof stripped down to bare metal. Four checked and dead paint jobs were making me really worried about what I was going to find under there. After an 80 grit massage, it turns out the metal is actually pretty good.

Wasn't today, but over the weekend I decided to get the Chevelle out.

Debated racing but decided I didn't want to deal with all the BS that goes into getting the car ready for the track. Plus I just wanted to drive it so I drove the car to work Friday and then went down to Atlanta Motor Speedway for opening night.

The place was pretty packed for opening night of Friday Night Drags

Brought home a souvenir

It was something fun to do on a Friday night I suppose.

You are not really missing much... The track prep is pretty poor for racing (although they did introduce an actual christmas tree at the starting line as well as pouring new asphalt this year) and the show brings out a good number of "kids" in jacked up trucks with their stock, blown out speakers cranked to 11. I like loud music, I like big trucks, and I like to have a good time but in the pit area it gets pretty obnoxious, and I am relatively young with a high tolerance.

There were a number of nice cars out for opening night though. If it was much closer I would probably go just to see some racing every Friday night.

Will be loading the Chevelle onto a trailer and heading south to a car show this weekend. Still need to get the frontend aligned before I make any long trips with it. Weather going to be in the 80's. Warmer then normal for this time of year, but I will take it.

Got the mufflers replaced on my '70 wagon and the pipe joints all welded up nicely yesterday...installed stock Maramont replacement mufflers ordered from Summit...very quiet!!
Had some cheapie turbo mufflers on it that were obnoxious and had to go!! Grand kids like to ride in the rear facing 3rd seat.

Congrats Eric. Sounds like they need to raise the prices for entrance, gets rid of some of the riff raff. They did that here for a race at a local track, brings out some beautiful cars/serious racers.

Ray, have a great time and safe travels.

Did nothing with my car other than check and make sure it was still in the garage. Put a smile on my face to know it is home.
