Default swift works shifter

I am switching my 1965 Chevelle from a 4 speed Muncie to a 4 speed auto. I don't now where to mount the new shift works shifter.. I am thinking the back of shifter plate goes where the front and back center console meet. Am I right if not does anyone know the location?

I used a Shift Works cable kit in my 66. I had cutout and replaced the complete transmission and driveshaft tunnel so had no reference point to start with. I had already built a custom console when I tried to use the stock shifter linkage with my 6 speed auto and I didn’t want to change it so I just centered the shifter in the center of the console opening.
The Shift Works cable makes it fairly easy to adapt to where the shifter is on the floor so use the console opening as a reference.
