Default Radio options

I've got to get the piece of crap radio replaced that in my car. I can't stand it-sounds horrible. I have speakers in the kick panels and 6 x 9 in rear, and some old radio with no power. I would replace it all

I would love to replace it with something that sounds better and thought I'd ask around and get some idea's. I would prefer to keep it in the dash rather than glove compartment. Cutting is not an issue.

If you are cutting your dash, or the buckets are already broken/cut - look into any of Alpine's DIN style radios. Pretty much any of those will be better than the aftermarket dual knob style radios. Even many of the cheapest Alpines have iPod/USB, Bluetooth, etc. Just depends what you have to work with in your dash, and what look you are going after.

I have an Ausley's radio in my Chevelle with a 170x2 @ 4ohm amp to my rear 6x9s and it sounds pretty decent to me.

In my 71 Vette I have an Alpine CDE-135BT and like it as well. The corvette has the ability to add a DIN style radio with a new bezel or I would do the same in the Chevelle.

I would just suggest staying away from those "Retro" looking radios. I spent way too much money on one and it was a piece of crap.

Yeah, don't fall for the advertisement "state of the art sound for your classic". Find an old 2 knob Pioneer or other name brand with adjustable knob positions. If you go with a new CD/radio it may not totally cover the old knob cavities.

Been there, done that. It looked really nice, but sounded like crap. I had Eric replace it with one he had for sale. I have an awesome sounding system now.

Great concept but, is it me or just the pictures but the Quality looks suspect, it looks like the push buttons are not even as they are low on the left and high on the right or is this just bad pic? He has positive feedback which is a good sign.

This appears to be the manufacture. It claims to be made in the USA?
