Default Center Console Conversion

Hello all. Going from a column to floor shift conversion. I have my center console and wiring harnesses(long and short one.) Ive read on other websites that I may have to splice some wires. Im not really electrically savy when it comes to cars for some reason. Can anyone help or give me a link to a website?. Thanks! MrDerek

Wish I could help but my car came with floor shift and console. As I recall the console plugs into a connector with an orange wire and a gray wire. Have you looked under the dash to see if there is an unused connector?

What year car? What shifter/transmission?

If it's a '69+ w/ automatic, you really don't need to do anything with your neutral safety switch, as long as the linkage is hooked up for locking the column. You should already have a neutral safety switch on the column, which works just fine as long as the linkage is operational.

The only other things in a console would be the light in the back which needs to be on the dome light circuit, and 2 lights in the top plate (automatic only) which can be spliced into the dash light circuit.

im new to the site and with chevelles and I have noticed people are a little tight with their schematics on this site. Why? Why dont people just post for others to see and learn? Just a question.
