Center Console Conversion
Hello all. Going from a column to floor shift conversion. I have my center console and wiring harnesses(long and short one.) Ive read on other websites that I may have to splice some wires. Im not really electrically savy when it comes to cars for some reason. Can anyone help or give me a link to a website?. Thanks! MrDerek

MrDerek ,you dont want my advice when discussing wiring .Shadowgrey seems to be good at wiring as thats what he is doing on his 70. Maybe he will jump in and help you.

Wish I could help but my car came with floor shift and console. As I recall the console plugs into a connector with an orange wire and a gray wire. Have you looked under the dash to see if there is an unused connector?

What year car? What shifter/transmission?
If it's a '69+ w/ automatic, you really don't need to do anything with your neutral safety switch, as long as the linkage is hooked up for locking the column. You should already have a neutral safety switch on the column, which works just fine as long as the linkage is operational. The only other things in a console would be the light in the back which needs to be on the dome light circuit, and 2 lights in the top plate (automatic only) which can be spliced into the dash light circuit.

im new to the site and with chevelles and I have noticed people are a little tight with their schematics on this site. Why? Why dont people just post for others to see and learn? Just a question.
