Default Panel Trim Adhesive

The rear panel of my 65 has a piece of stainless trim about 1 1/2 feet long below the armrest. When I removed the trim to put it on my new panel I found that it was actually glued as opposed to any prongs or ears holding it on. My question is what kind of adhesive is used to hold this trim on? Obviously Elmer's is not going to do it. It would have to be something pretty serious to not come off in the interior environment. Is two sided tape possible?

3m makes 2 sided tape. It holds the fender flairs on my durango. Weatherstrip adhesive would never come off.
