after thinking about it i am going to use this as a blessing. instead of ordering a new package tray i am going to make an arm rest/speaker box and put the speakers in the arm rest instead of cutting my package tray up. I already sent a message to my custom interior buddy to come over and take a look and give me some ideas

You dont have to cut up the packge tray to install speakers. The speakers mount from underneath. (I just did this to my 70)

If your thinking of using the seats you have and putting the speakers inside the seat side panels/armrests I dont think theres enough room.

Gotta see if you can find the correct rear seats for your car.

Agreed, I have some nice 6x9 speakers in my package tray and you can't see them. I bought a new tray from NAPD and it looks great.

Thats exactly what I did Ric. Really like the new package tray. I sold my old speakers to John (Flash) and he's putting them in his Wifes car.

I did the same in my '72, mounting the speakers under the package tray.

Ray,

I am going to see if I can edit your post in the other thread, just so we have the correct information there. Just wanted to let you know.

I may have a source for a seat for you, I'll let you know. The trick might be getting them there if you are interested.
