Default Possibly purchasing a 69 El Camino. need advice.

Hello Folks,

I've been looking at this 1969 El Camino now for awhile. The guy claims it is a SS. The car has a 350 with 350 badges. My question is can it be a SS with a 350? i was thinking all 68-69 SS cars were 396s. Most of what I find pertains to Chevelles. The guy wants 9500 for it. Paint and body appear to be in good condition and its also a A/C car. What do you guys think?

No SS350s in '69... hard to say what it's worth without pics, but typically an El Camino brings about half of an equal Chevelle 2dr coupe.

X2, he's trying to pull a fast one. Other things to check is see if it has a big block steering shaft.

Thanks guys. Ya it definitely is not an original SS. He was reluctant to give me the VIN over the phone so i went and checked it out myself. I'm not the type that really cares if it is a real SS just don't like being lied too. Still a nice car but definitely not worth the 9500 he won't budge from. i found several in as good shape for alot lower. Trying to find a stockish Elky for daily driving is harder than I thought.
