Default Carb insulating gasket

Looking for a insulating carb mounting gasket to fit my 283 2 barrel Rochester model 2GV. The car is hard to restart after the engine has been warmed up and shut off. I think the heat from the intake manifold is evaporating the gas in the float bowl although I could be wrong. Thanks again for your help, am I the only one out there with a bone stock 283 ?

Yea last 283 I ran was in a 65 chevelle. When the floor fell out I put it in my 68 El Camino. And that been some time ago. I have had 4 of them. I used to call them motorcycle engines. Set of camel hump heads and a big cam they would rev to 9 grand. Enough of the old days of my youth.

Here is a page from summit that list many spacers for 2 BBL's. I remember factory 283 2 BBL carbs were a different critter but maybe one of them can be rigged to work for you.

I have a summit catalog and will look to see if they have one. 9 grand, phew, be the first car in history to blow its own doors off.
Thanks again.

Found the phenolic spacer kit including two gaskets, studs, nuts, etc. from a company called Dashmans Hot Rod & Speed Parts. They are in Wisc. Ph. # 608-637-7167. The kit was $32.00. The person who took my call was a guy named Don and was a good guy to deal with. They fabricate all kinds of hot rod stuff at reasonable prices from what I see.
