Hello All,
When I was 16, my dad bought me a 69 SS. Well, I'm 49 and am going to surprise me son with the same car. Its been sitting in a barn in Michigan for 31 years. It currently has a 350 in it and I have no plans in tracking down the 396 to put back into it. I am going to go through the entire car. Anyone have a good source to follow some sort of order to begin this process?

Buy lots of tubs and label everything when it comes off. Then label the tubs.

Lots of Pictures and mark all the bags and tubes like stated above. Start with mechanical, brakes, engine, trans differential, check all the wiring to make sure it has been chewed through by some rodent. Body work is the last thing. Make the car safe before any thing else. If you not concerned with keeping it original, then do some upgrades and just keep the original parts.

As Ray said, make it safe and drive-able then go from there.

My car was in pieces when I bought it. Lots of tubs but not well organized and labeled. I ended up buying a master fastener kit from NPD. Saved me a lot of confusion trying to reassemble the car. You shouldn't have a problem if you do as the guys said and label everything.

The fastener kits rock! Invest in an assembly manual.
