I`ve got 15x7 Cragar Eliminator 500 wheels with 4.125" back spacing front and rear with 215/65/15 front and 235/60/15 rear. Plan to go a little wider on the rear when the time comes.

Right now my 72 has Weld Rodlites, 7 and 8 in. Tires are 215/70, and 255/60. Just listed them on Craigslist. Was going to buy the Centerline Quaulifiers, but they said 2 mths on the 8 in. So I'll guess I'll go with the Billet Specialties Street lites. Now to decide on tires.

I just put a set of Billet Specialties Street lites on mine, 6in and 8 in. I put 205/75's and 275/60's. Looks good, and I also have a set of Weld Rodlites, 8in and 7in with a set of 255/60's, 215/70's for sale. Tires have 1500 miles on them.

From what I gather, you want the wheel width the same or close to the tread width.. With 15 x 7 wheels, I mounted 255/60-15 and 275/60-15 tires just for kicks (photo).. The tires didn't grip worth a damn.. I switched to 225/70-15 tires on the same wheels and they grip much better..

I'm having Series 62 wheels made up , 15 x 8 with 5.5 backspace and I'm using Master Craft 245/60r15 tires.. I'm having the wheels painted the same color as the car with dog dish hub caps..
