Me too.... wasn't very much fun either (although, I didn't get called in)

Thankfully it is mostly back together now though.

While mine is out Im putting in a new stereo ,checking the convertible top system ,repairing the driver door latch and trying to figure out how to take the clock out and put tach in its place .

Clock should be very easy and the tach can be swapped in by only pulling the dash pad. Requires a flexible wrist to get to the two nuts holding the tach/blank plate in place but I was able to do one a few years ago without removing the dash carrier. Just an FYI.

Sounds like you have a nice list of things to work on.

No problem, they know about it. The seat & armrest pads are sitting (hopefully) out of the way.

Maybe it is just the feeling of something different but the bench was certainly more comfortable than the new buckets. Hope it works well for your wagon!

Wow, doing some work. Planning on racing the Malibu ? Is that the reason for the tach ? Oh...Joan is gonna race it.

Mine has the factory tar paper stuff along with ACC Mass Back (ethylene vinyl acetate 40mil thick.) It probably does not work quite as well as the heavy dynamat type products but it added $101.84 to the carpet bill and my interior guy absolutely hates working with it because the carpet is so think and takes so much longer to work into shape. I don't notice any heat or excess noise so I guess it does its job.

8 months later, and my carburetor has returned...
