Just had a set of original 1967 tags restored by this guy > http://www.restoreatag.com/
I run them mounted on the car all the time now, with the actual registered tags in the car windows when driving it on the street. Get to the shows, put them away. The tags came out unbeleiveable ! 1000 times better than new. Pics dont do them justice. This fit, finish, shine and quality is as good as the paint on my car. After talking with this guy, come to find out, he does all the work for Jay Leno, Has done work for Seinfeld, and just inked a deal with Kounts Customs to do a few TV shows with them. He gets and does tags from all over the world. The owner Shawn, just taped a show with Leno and will be on a tribute show to him in the comming weeks, featuring Leno's cars and the guys that restore them for him. All I can say, is if your looking for restored tags or anything that he restores listed on his website, this is the guy ! Hes not the cheapest, but when you want quality, this is the guy ! |
Re-installed a fresh rebuilt driveshaft...new joints and balanced...back into the wagon.
Noticed yesterday while it was up on a lift getting the oil/filter changed that the rear u-joint had some slop in it. Pulled it out yesterday afternoon and dropped it of at a local driveshaft service shop. |
Dreamed about getting my car out of that damn storage. I better hurry, I only have til May 1st. I just need the weather to cooperate. I will say, it has been nice having an empty garage and space to move around in there. But it will be nice to go out and hop in my car and go for a ride.

You need a set of these...come with Monroe replacement shocks. VERY sturdy and even allow additional wheel clearance (no additional nut on shock eye end). Locktite and a lock washer and you'll never have any more problems. Promise. I've got a couple sets if needed... |
Installed new rear shocks, rebuilt lower boxed control arms, and a 1" rear sway bar on the '70 today.
Now on to the front end suspension tomorrow... |

I spent 30 or so minutes on the phone with Speedway motors trying to find anything in their catalog that would fit the AFCO eyelet diameter. Ended up getting the grade 8 suggestion from them as well. |
Find someone (Greg W.) with a lathe and turn the shanks down. ;)
I could do it easily if I was still employed. Better yet...let me go out & measure these. EDIT...yeah, 5/8" shank with 1/2" threaded end. You're welcome to these if 'ya want them. Mo's have a lathe? |
