Eric...how did your car run yesterday?
Seemed I never was in a location to be able to read the ET board when you made a pass...looked to be hooking pretty good.

It might have looked that way but it was pretty bad....my bald ET Street radials held in there but I needed to be able to side step the clutch and couldn't.

I need two things a line lock and a two-step. I already have a 6AL-2 for the 2-step that will get put in with the EFI. The car would not sit in the beams without rolling backwards so I could never launch at a consistent RPM. I had to just ride the clutch and then kamikaze the launch. I can't heal-toe this car, the pedals are all 3 at different levels that makes it nearly impossible. First pass managed a horrible 2.13 60' and a 7.87 1/8th @ 101. Made 2 more passes and got the 60 in the 1.93 range dropping the 1/8th down to the 7.78 range at 99 mph (a Paradise 99-100...) Considering the car previously cut a 1.63-1.70 60' that should drop 3 tenths or so off the ET which brings the times back down to just a little slower than it ran before with the auto which I expected. I think my best 1/8th time was low 7-teens (7.13-7.14) maybe 7.0x, but I can't remember.

More importantly, nothing broke and my belts stayed on! Didn't miss a shift and other than a couple bad burnouts trying to dump the clutch and grab the brakes, I had a good time for the first time out with a manual in the car. Good turn out at the track and decent weather!

I'm sure you'll be doing a line lock soon...surprised you haven't done so already. I found mine invaluable. More so on that redneck uphill track :D
Needed @ Silver Dollar too if windy. Always seem to be a headwind there.

Eric, I think you'll want to invest in a set of stiff sidewall slicks with the six speed. A friend of mine was struggling in 275X with his T56 equipped car made the change this year. (Now he's in a different class.) His car is once again consistent, and close to the performance of when it was automatic.

Yeah, it was always one of those things on the "to-do" list but never got around to it. One thing that has kept me from jumping on it is the lack of a place to mount the button. I will not cut anything up in the car so that creates problems. I am thinking of a solution by making a small bracket that mounts in the console with a toggle switch and a couple push buttons. One to activate the two step, one for the line lock and maybe another button or two to purge the..... well, lets leave it at a line lock and two step for now. I am thinking of taking something like a rear console mount and modifying it so that it mounts to the bottom console bolts. All the wires can be hidden under the carpet and only a small hole will need to be drilled in the bottom of the console to feed the wires through.

Oh, absolutely! The ET radials have been on the car for the past year and are nearly slick. Only the outside grooves remain but the center grooves are all gone. I think the AFCO shocks will help adjust some of the hit out as needed but I have to get to a point where I can launch consistently first. Surprisingly the car did not spin too bad given my harsh driving technique although my 60' shows that it was not doing nearly what it should.

I don't think I was leaving harder than 2-3k RPM - but was difficult to say as I was riding the clutch to light the bulbs and then revving and dumping when the tree went green.

I think with the right launch (assuming the tires grab) I might see a bit more daylight under those tires!
