Weather was just to nice today to leave the car covered up. Went for a cruise and met up with some other friends.

Put a new alternator on today. The wires are a mess in the entire car. Whoever had it in the past was splice happy! I think the winter may bring a wiring project. I never had a voltage regulator before so I had to trace wires and figure out what was what. I thought I did something wrong but it turns out I have an ignition switch issue, something must be loose. End result was a nice rumble of the vehicle firing up with 14 from the new alternator.

Wow, had a GREAT weekend Chevelle here!
After a LOT of hard work and a lot of $$$$$$$, I think I have a solid riding car.
First medium trip, from Ribeirão Preto to SJ do Rio Preto, 220km (+/- 150 miles), 440 km total, to see my parents, with young son Gabriel (9 years old).
The 68 performed like a champ, riding strong and smooth!
Cool as hell! :banana::banana::banana:

Not what I was wanting to see when I came home from work today....

The Moroso pan has been slightly leaking since this motor has been in the car and I was stupid to not just replace it when the motor was out last year but thought it could be fixed. Anyway, I guess the car knew I ordered a new oil pan Friday and decided it was time to make a big mess! Definitely taking this one to the shop and putting it on a lift as it is a PITA to change. Hopefully we can pull the motor up just enough to get it out without pulling the entire thing!

Should be putting the FAST 2.0 on the car at the same time!

I can only assume as much. I didn't crawl underneath enough to really see. I know there was a hairline crack right on the front bottom edge. Last time I had the car in the shop that edge was ground down and welded. I can't see anything obvious other than a bit of oil on the bottom of the pan. Certainly nothing that would indicate the kind of leak found on the garage floor!

If not the leaded edge of the bottom of the pan my other thought is that the pan rubbed or is rubbing on the crossmember. When the motor comes up to replace the pan I am going to go ahead and put on a solid driver-side motor mount. Not sure that the motor is torquing over but I'd rather get that out of the way as it has been sitting on a shelf for a while now waiting for a reason to go on.

Found the leak. It was where it has always been. I pulled the drain plug and am going to let the oil drip out over night. Tomorrow I will sand it down and coat it with some good ole' JB Weld. Hopefully that will hold it over for the next week or two until the pan can be replaced!

This was about a minute after wiping clean.
