Try a little pearl in the dark color.

Ken, I tried looking up the mirror flake in the paint and couldn't I find a thing about it. Only thing I came up with was that some company came up with something called "diamond dust" in the 60's or so but it was outlawed because of the silica in it and you can't buy it anymore. I like both colors a lot so it's really hard to decide but I'm kinda somewhat leaning towards the original color since I've yet to see one locally painted that color. Mestorod, the darker blue actually does already have the pearl in it, it's just hard to tell if your not in the direct sunlight. Since I've decided to paint the car myself, if I don't like how it turns out or I get tired of it, I'll change it down the road. I'm actually going to look at another chevelle tonight which is a 72 that looks to be in about the same shape that the one I have now was when I bought it. Take a closer look at it this evening.

Well I went and looked at that 72 and it was way worse than what it looked like in the pictures on CL. Wasn't hardly anything left of it. Guy said the guy he got it off of let it sit out in the weather for the last 15 years. It only had 94K miles on it. Such a waste.

I made some progress on the rocker panel and quarter tonight. I couldn't believe how much bondo was there plus I found a bunch of wood and what looks like old news paper, lol. I'll finish getting the front half tomorrow evening. Check out this fine repair job that was done years ago.

No surprise there... I've seen newspaper, screen material, "speed tape", etc. Some people should never attempt body work. You're really saving that old car from an untimely demise.

All of the welds I found under the quarter and on the rocker looked like someone used a welding rod with some batteries in series. Look horrible! You're right carpoor some people should never attempt body work!! Shaun I bet this whole quarter and rocker panel had without exaggeration had a gallon of bondo in it
Been a little busy doing other things last few nights but I did get a few things done the other night. Got the rest of the rocker off and used some rust converter put on everything, then primed it all http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q...psfeyeun3e.jpg Got the rocker tacked into place and removed the smashed quarter/door post support that they never fixed and since I couldn't find a repro one. Wow, I was so lucky that my rocker work was not bad. My car had very little rust when I replaced my rocker. Nice work, my hat is off to you.
