I been biding my time. I took everything off the shelves and cleaned them and everything on them. Painting is over at least big stuff. So I cleaning up the dust and overspray. set all the windows in the car. In the interior not back in. Moved parts in the order I be needing them. I been doing more mom stuff. Restoring a stove that was grandmas. Making the doors and knobs work. I got to repair the gas flue and finish cleaning it. I been fixing the rear door on the durango. It ready for paint. Then patching some rocker rust getting it ready for winter. It basically sits all summer. This is the hard part waiting and not touching it. |
Spent the entire day lining up the front bumper. Took 20 minutes to do the first time. They got up and down forward and back from factory. Side to side not so much.
I wasn't with that so I had to get it perfect. It needed to go to one side a 1/4 inch. It is absolutely perfect now. I got the 2 center braces tight outside ones will be a snap now. |
Now it warm again I been working on the paint again. I got it sanded down and first wash. I be cleaning a few days before I buff. I got to move my van outside to do it because I don't want it all over it. It is a 4 incher. Git to really get close to see the flaws. I real happy with it. Not bad for a first attempt shade tree mech job. I painted before but never cut and buffed. I glad that over now. I know i wont screw this part up I done it a million times. Stress from sanding is over.
I can't wait till the tail pieces and rear end chrome on. https://s5.postimg.org/g3qu07ro7/IMA...pszjzf5jin.jpg https://s5.postimg.org/qf36svjdj/IMA...psirunxdj3.jpg |
