I got to pick up bolts tonight. I knew I should have not walked into the garage tonight. Took me an hour to resort them.

My opinion...it doesn't matter, if you are happy with it. Some times our budget determines what we have and what we can do. If you are happy, everyone else can bug off.

Drove it to one larger car show, didn't look like fun. So me and my son decided to try another show about 10 miles away. Nope, Pampa Lanes was closed, but there were about 15 cars sitting in the back, behind the building. We decided to pass and went down the road about 1/2 mile to the Limelight Bar and Grill. Only a few cars sitting in their lot, so another pass. I had run out of the cruises I remembered so I had Jacob call grumpy and see where the next one was. Found out the next one was another 7 miles away. Oh what the heck...I was having fun driving all over the place, especially since it has been a while. We ended up at the Ram's Horn in Fraser. Small show, but ir you are a cruiser you get 20% off your food bill for 2 people. Perfect !

Jacob and I sat there and talked to many new faces. I will say when it came time for them to total up all the voting slips it became interesting. Instead of handing out trophies...the top 3 winners got......A PIE. Heck, I would have loved to take a pie home. lol another fun night with my son. :)

I totally agree. I am not a guy, so as my son is growing up (he is almost 14), spending time with "mom" is not really cool. But when I mention going to a car show, Jacob jumps up and always wants to go. I am a lucky lady.

shadowgray396 06-28-2012 12:08 AM

Been working on the rignt inner fender tonight, got the dust shield installed. What a pain to put on. Started to install heater hoses and battery tray.

Good for you Ray !

I hope you don't have fireworks on the 4th, I think. :)

Ms Grumpy 07-02-2012 01:05 AM

After going out in my car. I realized that I want a different steering wheel ( the wood one cost me over $200, mark that one as another shoulda listened to the hubby ), I really want quieter mufflers ( hubby again ), I need to go to the tire shop cause I think I have lost a weight from doing just a couple burnouts.

Those shoulda woulda coulda's get me all the time.

Sold the SS Camaro Saturday, last week I was tied up with making sure the car was 110% ready. As luck would have it, I went to the gas station and filled it up - F'er wouldn't start! Was able to jump start it and drive it home. Had to steal the battery out of my Monte to get the car sold. This week, hoping to get back to work on my car and make some real progress.

BillsCamino 07-02-2012 07:57 PM

Sold mine today.

shadowgray396 07-03-2012 11:28 PM

Will start my push to get the car runnng tomorrow at 8am. If all goes well I should be able to start it.

carpoor 07-04-2012 09:50 AM

That's awesome Ray, got my fingers crossed for you.

69chevelless 07-04-2012 11:07 AM

I'll have my car back within a couple hours. It's all finished, just waiting for roads to dry.

It is so exciting when you finally get your car back and get ready to take that first ride. Congratulations. Can't wait to hear how everything goes and see some pics.

SS Shaun 07-04-2012 07:59 PM

shadowgray396 07-04-2012 10:43 PM

We managed to break the cowl seal on top of the air cleaner trying install it. Still need a wing nut for the air cleaner, hook up the wiper washer hoses, and try to get the reverse switch installed on the column, and the spedo cable hooked up.

The ride went great Ms grumpy! Me and my 2 sons cruised for a couple hours today and the thumbs up's and beeping of the horns never stopped the whole time. Both my kids are into cars and one won't let me go in the car anywhere without them. We Go to all the car shows together and he loves it. I'm just so happy to have my car back with a mint paint job and interior. Will defanitly post some pics soon!

What I did today

cleaned up the trunk well and coated with Herculiner.....mounted the new tank and Viair 480c pumps today...

SS Shaun 07-05-2012 10:17 PM

finished side one of my drums and picked up my exhaust for the chevelle :)

shadowgray396 07-06-2012 12:25 AM

Got the spedo cable finally installed, but seem to have an issue with my steering column. I'm missing the bracket and holes on it to mount the back uo light switch on the lower portion on the column to turn my back up lights on. It may be a winter project since I may need to pull the column back out.

I was about to get a bunch of small stuff done today but then my wife dislocated her shoulder in the pool and this is the third time total. The last time was 3 months ago! There were 2 firefighters and 2 paramedics and they all loved the chevelle in the driveway. One of the firefighters this time was the paramedic last time and he said I remember you, you were at the top of the stairs last time. It's all back in now and she might have to have surgery but I'm hoping not.

SS Shaun 07-06-2012 07:41 AM

Hope not dude. I'm at the doctor right now getting my separated shoulder checked out now

shadowgray396 07-06-2012 08:38 AM

Hope she is going to be ok.

69chevelless 07-06-2012 10:03 AM

Thanks Shaun and Ray,

This thread should now be titled"So what did you do to your body today?"

carpoor 07-06-2012 05:26 PM

I shipped out out my carburetor and water pump today to be rebuilt/restored. The carb went to Cliff Ruggles, and the pump went to Aurthur Gould Rebuilders. I have read nothing but rave reviews about both of them. I picked up a temporary carb last night, just in case I get it running before Cliff gets my original carb done. It's a Holley 650cfm double pumper, spread bore.

So cool SS. It is so nice to share the ride with someone who loves it just as much as you. Sounds like there will be many great times together with you and your kids.

Ms Grumpy 07-06-2012 06:58 PM

I hope everything works out with the shoulder SS. Just asking, did I miss your name somewhere in a thread ? Sorry, it is just me, I like to know names.

shadowgray396 07-06-2012 07:26 PM

Count down has begun. Will be firing the car in the next half hour.

grandsport 07-06-2012 07:29 PM

Good luck Ray.!!!!!!!!
