It's been quite a while since I've had time to work on the car but last week I had an evening to do a couple of things and tonight I had some more time. Last week I had to patch a few pieces on the lip where the inner wheel well welds to the trunk pan. Tonight I was able to get the trunk extension and inner wheel well welded into place. Hopefully tomorrow evening I'll be able to get the outer wheel well done and then get the rest of the quarter panel off and start getting it fitted. I'd like to able to at least drive around in it this spring. I know the wedding deadline didn't work out very well but hopefully I can stick to this one. Lol

Making progress again. I wish I had your skills.

I assume you aligned that up with your quarter panel before you welded that in place. Last quarter I helped with we almost put everything back together and pinned it before we did any welding to make sure it would fit correctly. Going to look good.

Thanks Hank, It's not a very finely polished skill but it's enough to get me by or in trouble whichever comes first lol

Ray, That's exactly what I will do, I will screw the outer wheel well into place until the quarter if fitted to everything. That's what I did on the other side too. I had to work over 5 hours last night and didn't get a chance to work on it. So hopefully tonight, unless I have to work over again, I'll get a chance to work on it some more.

Justin, what can you tell me about your motor? Mine looks like yours except that my block is black and valve covers are chrome.

Ken, the motor in my car ZZ4 crate motor I got bought off a guy while back. It's just a small block 350 that comes with a roller cam from the factory. I swapped the cam out for one from Straub Technology, it's got factory vortec heads and an edelbrock RPM intake with a street demon carb. When I got the motor it was black but I painted it orange. It was a long block so it didn't come with valve covers so I bought center bolt covers for a 98 chevy truck and used those. Is there anything else you were wanting to know about it? What motor is in your car?

Work on getting the quarter fitted this evening, but ran out of time. The back half lined up pretty good but I need to do some more work up around the door and the rocker.

Won't be long though

You are one talent guy. Looking good.

Mines a 350/330 crate motor. It has a flat tappet cam 212/222....435 intake / 460 exhaust, vortec 64cc heads, aluminum intake with 600 Edelbrock, 4 bolt mains. Cam is like a 65-67 Corvette with more lift and duration. I have no idea what year the motor is and it does have center bolt valve covers like yours. Sure would like to find out what year it is.

Post the casting number. I will find out.
Or look online. There is a list that shows what years different casting numbers were used in.
