Mostly late 60's, 70's for me but Stevie Ray is also a favorite.
SRV - Pride and Joy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU0MF...eature=related Neither are obscure but I love a good guitar player and these two are among the best. |
Alot of coke songs about that time, Jackson Browne's Lawyers in Love for example.
I am thinking that Eric Clapton was doing the nasty with Geo Harrison's wife about the time "Cocaine" came out which leads me (pretty tricky) to My Guitar Gently Weeps but not Georges version .... its a "group" thang, but check out the solo part yawl will NEVER believe the artist and talent!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifp_SVrlurY |
Wow Hank, the Texas guys had their own niche back then. And Southern rock was and is just damn good. Stevie Ray, the VanZants, .... Robinson brothers ........ the Black Crows.
The Black Crows with Jimmy Paige doing Zep http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CejL5KIGhpM |
Big blues and jazz fan here. Mississippi John Hurt and Lightnin Hopkins are some of my favs.

HD is running a show on sattelite called "Fender" or something like that which is a tribute to the guitarist that mainly play the Stratocaster. Catch that one if you have HD channels .... and "BINGO" on Austin City Limits. They usually have a great array of talent of all genres.
