Mostly late 60's, 70's for me but Stevie Ray is also a favorite.

SRV - Pride and Joy.

Neither are obscure but I love a good guitar player and these two are among the best.

Alot of coke songs about that time, Jackson Browne's Lawyers in Love for example.

I am thinking that Eric Clapton was doing the nasty with Geo Harrison's wife about the time "Cocaine" came out which leads me (pretty tricky) to My Guitar Gently Weeps but not Georges version .... its a "group" thang, but check out the solo part yawl will NEVER believe the artist and talent!!

Saw an Austin City Limits show on PBS years ago with SRV, it was awesome. Also saw one with Ray Orbison, Slow Hand, The Boss, and I can't remember who else, some of the best guitar players in the world, oh and Jerry Lee on piano. It was mostly Ray then the others coming in, another great concert, wish I had recorded it. Check out Austin City Limits and some of the others on PBS. They have some really good stuff.

HD is running a show on sattelite called "Fender" or something like that which is a tribute to the guitarist that mainly play the Stratocaster. Catch that one if you have HD channels .... and "BINGO" on Austin City Limits. They usually have a great array of talent of all genres.

I really dont like BlueGrass but I saw Allison Krause do James Taylor's "Carolina" on that show .... what a voice! .... and pleasnt on the eyes! LOL

I'll check it out. I grew up with Cream, Who, Rolling Stones, Moody Blues, Grand Funk, Seger, MC5, etc, saw most of them live. Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lew were a little before my time but I've grown to like their music. Never cared for 'heavy metal' but I do like Queen and some of the later groups. A shame we lost Freddie Mercury, of course we've lost a lot of the great ones.

Well it's a George Harrison song but that was Prince. Prince is out there but he does have some talent.
