I think they make surge protectors for the CAT5 cable, I know they make them for regular phone line. May be worth looking into.

Ric...The send and recieve thing was on my outlook express before, Now I have something called "live mail". There doesn't seem to be a botton for send and recieve anymore. It's how I used to check for new emails.

Tony, Live Mail is very similar to Outlook Express. It will check for new mail on a periodic basis and automatically send new mail when you hit the send button.

If you want to force it to check for new mail right now, go to Tools on the menu bar then select Sync. That will Sync your local machine with what's on the server, including any new mail.
