Conservatives took an ass-kicking here. :(

I can't believe he got voted in again. I have to admit I voted for him the first but not this time. Just hope nothing happens to him because then we'll really be screwed if the other knuckle head takes over.

Then they wondered why they couldn't get enough support to win an election?

Voter turnout was way down in most states.

Those may have been factors but I don't think that's what cost him the election. He didn't get the Latino/Hispanic vote which is primarily a conservative group. It's tough and going to get tougher to win the presidency without their support. He also lost Ohio and maybe Michigan because of his stance on the auto bailout. He could have played that issue a lot better, he said let them go bankrupt. What he didn't say in his defense was they did go through bankruptcy. An unusual, government led bankruptcy but still bankruptcy.

Our society is changing, I don't like it but it's happening. Bigger gov, more entitlement programs that's where our society is headed. I don't think the average citizen sees the danger in this. They want someone to take care of them. That's a lot easier than taking care of yourself. Let the rich people pay for it, 39.6% tax rate on income over $200,000, $250,000 for couples. Let's tax them some more, they should pay their fair share. Where's the incentive to work hard and succeed?

When it all collapses due to national dept they'll see the problem. Look at Europe, they're already there, won't be long before we're there too.

So right Hank. One of my major concerns in the coming years will be the Obama-care programs. I know a lot of people who cannot afford insurance thru their work place and from what I understand there will be a large fine for those people that are not insured. And this is to start in the next 2 yrs.

That's terrible for people making over $200k to be taxed 39%. I think that it should be people making over 400k that should be taxed that much. I am already taxed 29% and I don't need to be losing any more money because that is just making unemployment rates get bigger since buisness owners are taxed to much. I also talked to a bank owner today who said that if this is the fact he's going to let someone go. And by looking at the stocks tonight it looks as if they were at there worst in a long time. Thankfully I won't be letting anyone go soon because I'm actually short handed and buissness has been very well lately.

I still can't believe who would vote for Obama, is there anyone here that did and can explain their reasoning? The only person I know who voted for obama is one of my buissness partners which I have no idea why because his company has not been doing so good lately until just last week. I'm glad he's not my main buissness and partner.

Hkalin let's hope that doesn't happen or then we are screwed!

Why's everyone so upset?
The world is suppose to end next month so there will be no inauguration in January.

At least that's what I'm praying for. ;)

Obama-care is just a portion of where I see us headed. I could debate both sides of Obama-care. People without insurance raise the rates for the rest of us, hospitals are obligated to treat people, insurance or not. Somebody is going to pay for it. Some people can't afford insurance, no fault of their own. This should be handled at a state level, we already have Medicaid. My biggest concern is the growth of the federal government. It keeps getting bigger and bigger. Agencies that have served their purpose and are no longer required don't go away. They're self sustaining, whether they're needed or not.

We have the FBI, CIA, ATF, TSA, US Marshalls along with the army, navy, air force, marines and coast guard and more. How much duplication (triplication, quadruplication, etc) of effort do we need. There is always a reason to create a new agency, just never seems to be a good reason to eliminate one. The federal government is like a living organism, it wants to preserve itself and grow. it keeps feeding, on us, and keeps growing. Eventually it will consume all of it's food source, us and collapse.
