One more question and I think I will be done, but first, yes the blue blocks were Chevy! I spent hours putting the video of the motors, heads, exhaust manifolds, headers and boxes and boxes of stuff on You Tube only to find out at the end that they only allow TEN minute videos to be put up! Mine was 12! I will do it again, but first;
CAN I ASK ANOTHER OPINION, I have what I thought was a totally early 70's 454 smog motor. In fact a guy called me from IRAQ and wanted to know if I had sold it yet. Having a soft spot for veterans I told him No, (I was going to put this one back into the original owners '84 Chevy truck), he asked me if I would take $500.00 for it and the tranny? Told him yes, motor and tranny was his, stop in when you get home! Anyway, since I had been so wrong on some of these motors I though I would run the numbers just to be sure! The darn thing is a 402! A 396 bored by the factory.030's. Some one tell me is this is good or bad or indifferent type motor. ???? I WILL tell the soldier - whatever - when I talk to him again. Thanks fellas DV |
