Anyone heard how Hank is doing? Haven't ssen a post for a while.

FlintTony 08-25-2011 09:23 AM

He's posted on Team Chevelle in the last day or so. I'll give him a call and see how he's doing.

FlintTony 08-25-2011 11:29 AM

I talked to Hank for a couple of mins. He is healing, slow but healing. He will be going home next Tues, in a wheelchair. He should be able to use a walker when he gets home. Seemed to be in pretty good spirits.

Ms Grumpy 08-25-2011 03:56 PM

Let him know that we miss his "wisdom" here.

Hank70SS 08-26-2011 08:21 PM

Hey guys, I'm doing okay. Plan is for me to go home on Tuesday. They been working my butt of in therapy. Walking around with one of those old people walkers. Since I can't put any weight on my left leg it's kind of like using crutches, you have to support all of your weight on your hands and wrists, they're getting kind of sore.

Our house is a tri-level so I've been working on going up and down the stairs with the walker. That's kind of tricky too, balancing all your weight on your hands, on the walker, on the stairs. Anyway, it's all good. Lot of pain at various times but things are healing and getting better.

Ms Grumpy 08-26-2011 08:27 PM

We are all rooting for you Hank. I hope you are feeling better soon.

I bet that Maureen is not to happy with that.

Ms Grumpy 08-30-2011 04:23 PM

So Hank is it this week that you are going to head home.

Hank70SS 08-30-2011 05:26 PM

Well I'm home, got here around noon today. Still trying to adjust to things. Can't carry anything when using a walker or crutches and I have to use one or the other. Still can't put any weight on the left leg, it's going to be awhile. Things are improving, they're not great but they are improving,

Ms Grumpy 08-30-2011 07:17 PM

I am so glad to hear that you are home. It is nice having people waiting on you in the hospital, but there is nothing like being at home. Being able to grab a beer.

flash 08-30-2011 07:52 PM

Glad they made you go home ,you were probably agravating all the pretty nurses anyway .Be careful not to overdo it but do as much as you safely can .Get well soon .

shadowgray396 08-30-2011 11:11 PM

Also glad to her you are home. Take it one day at a time and you will be jogging again in no time.

Bowtie-Bri 09-02-2011 12:11 AM

Hank,
we'll leave an empty space for the Chevelle in your honor at the Frankenmuth Autofest. Lol
Actually, if you felt up to it, you could rent a golf cart and cruise around on Saturday, but I highly doubt that will happen. Just take it easy and we'll see you next year Take care buddy

Actually got along pretty good with most of them. I motored around in the wheelchair at night when I couldn't sleep. They would invite me in to the nurses station to sit and talk or watch TV on their widescreen TV.

I hate them golf carts! I couldn't sit in one very long either. Actually I can't sit, stand or lay very long. Whatever I'm doing it will start to hurt after awhile and I have to do something different, until that starts to hurt. Hope you guys enjoy Frankenmuth, I'm sure going to miss being there this year. Can't believe I broke my ass, the pain can be unbelievable at times, can't do a damn thing, just have to wait until it heals on it's own.

Ms Grumpy 09-02-2011 05:32 PM

Hank, it sounds like you are getting back to your old self. I am sure that everyone is going to miss you at Frankenmuth this year.

I'm betting Lynda was asking them to fix some of his faults while he was in there anyway.

Probably but I bet she'd be happy if I could just walk around on my own.

This is a true friend.

Hank70SS 09-14-2011 05:55 PM

Saw the doctor today. They took some x-rays and he said the bones are healing good. Said I can do 30% weight on my left leg, up until now it's been no weight which is really hard to do.

Since they didn't have to do any surgery he said things should heal up good with no long term affects. He said this injury is one of the worst for pain and that's going to be the biggest issue the next month or 2. It still hurts like hell sometimes but it's not as often as before so things are improving. He gave me a script for Motrin, hopefully that will work and I can get away from the narcotics. Been taking them around the clock for a month now.

grandsport 09-14-2011 06:57 PM

Hi Hank! Waving

Ms Grumpy 09-14-2011 07:30 PM

Hank, glad to hear that things are going good. I bet it will feel good to be able to move around a little more. Don't over do it.

FlintTony 09-15-2011 05:28 AM

Good news Hank. Now come on up this week-end and help me get the new roof on the storage garage. Will you be able to carry the bundles of shingles up the LATTER for me?

Hank70SS 09-15-2011 09:21 AM

It's pretty obvious that I'm not too good on LATTERs Tony. I am pretty good at drinking beer though. :drunk:

Just thought I would mention that in case you need any help in that area. :D

Sounds like you have had a few already.

I usually use a ladder when I need to go up on a roof.

grandsport 09-15-2011 06:38 PM

Beer is a good thing Hank.:p

Tony spelled it latter, I just copied that.

Everybody knows that Gary.

FlintTony 09-16-2011 08:19 AM

I spelled it that way because someone made fun of me before for my miss-spelling, so now that's the way I'm going to spell it forever. Have a "goot" day all.

flash 09-16-2011 08:12 PM

Hi Hank ,hope youre feeling better.

A little better each day. Hardest part is not being able to do anything. I hobble around on these crutches looking at all the things that need to be done that I can't do.

shadowgray396 09-17-2011 08:47 AM

Glad to here you are doing better. You are that much closer to doing some of the things you want too.
