Hey Ric, you gonna stop by this week? I'll be around except on Thursday, going to pay Tony a visit. Of course I should be back by the time you get off work.

Ms Grumpy 11-14-2011 07:29 PM

Ric I have a set of 72 plates too. They were never registered. I think that they were dealer plates, but I don't think that they are brown. I thought that they were blue, I could be wrong. Anyway I bought them over 13 years ago with the intention to register them to my car, but I never did. Are you looking for a set of 72 plates ?

FlintTony 11-14-2011 07:33 PM

That would be a nice match. I've never seen one like that. Pretty cool, I like different stuff.

Hank and the family are coming up Thursday afternoon for a bit. You want me to write you an excuse slip to get the afternoon off work? Have a couple of cold beers?

They were a light red (see pic) and were 71 plates with a sticker, the other one I just bought was called a 72 1/2 issue plate and not to many were issued since back then we had to have our new plates by May 1 of that year and not your Birthay like they are now.

I may do that, I have no meetings on Thursday afternoon and its a good excuse to get the hell out of here. What time?

FlintTony 11-15-2011 11:33 AM

Ric,,,say around 2 or so?

Hank70SS 11-15-2011 06:12 PM

So what kind of reply is that Ric? Are going to join us or not? Hope to see you there.

FlintTony 11-15-2011 06:19 PM

That means that i will be glad to write a note for Ric to give to his boss.

Something like...."Ric will need the afternoon of this Thursday off, due to an issue at TW's shop. The issuse being, there is cold beer and friends there".

And the response in the other post is because Ric won't buy a TA unless the clock works. So he gets NO CLOCK!!!!

Maybe I'm special because I was there at 6:00 pm to pick the car up a couple weeks ago.

But no problem for me, as I'm taking my daughter to dinner since Mom is gone all week and our cooking sucks.

Hey Ray..If you have time after work, come on up too. If you get out a 4:30, you should be able to stay for 5-10 mins. Or take a couple of hours off and come on up.

Ray Barnes 11-17-2011 11:07 AM

Tony...your to kind. 5-10 minutes is all anyone can take of me. I'll head out there one of these days. I've been sick...dont want to speard germs on people I like...thats why I come to work and spread them here.

Still have that 69? Now thats a car I would like to have...just a little to out of reach.

FlintTony 11-17-2011 11:37 AM

Hey come on Ray, if we are all drinking, we can put up with you for at least an hour!

The black 69 is still here. I thought about selling it, then changed my mind. Then someone will email and ask if it is for sale. I say mabey I'll sell it for 55. Then I get the standard shit like "the car market is down, is your wife OK with you keeping it, did you lose your job and need to sell it, my uncles best friend knows where one just like it is, only better for a lot less, and more. I hate most people.

Ray Barnes 11-18-2011 05:40 AM

I feel ya on the "I hate most people" comment. If I had two Chevelles like mine and sold them both I still wouldn't have enough too buy yours. I like everything about that car...you should keep it. Not to many around like that.

FlintTony 11-18-2011 05:46 AM

I had the cover off it yesterday when everyone was here. I started to put it back on last night, but decided not to. I was just back there wiping it down. Man, it IS a nice car. I would never be able to replace it. I keep thinking that I would like to do a complete resto on it, but when I really look at the originality of it, I am torn. What would you do Ray? Restore or leave it as is?

Hank70SS 11-18-2011 12:11 PM

Ray, hope you're feeling better soon. Give me a call when you are, if you want some company I'll swing by. Or you can come over here anytime, you know you're always welcome.

Hank70SS 11-18-2011 12:12 PM

Tony, Ric, good seeing you guys yesterday. Since I missed both Back to the Bricks and Autofest it's been a long time.

It was good seeing you and Lynda and Henry again as well, wish Ray could have made it.

Thanks Tony and Kathy for being good hosts...glad I skipped out on work to be there.

Keep it original...that is my vote.

If I had it I would leave most of it as is and detail a few things in the engine bay. Other than that...a good wheel and wax job would be nice. Just to make that black shine and pull you in. I would leave her as is. Of all your cars, the 69 is my favorite. Like you said...it would be hard to find another one like that. You need to take it out a little more...keep them juices flowing.

Hank70SS 11-19-2011 03:48 PM

I'm going to start driving it for him once I start working for him. I'll keep all his cars in good shape and exercised on a regular basis.

Tony,

The Camaro is now legal as I got the title and new registration for the 1972 plates today. Do you want the plate back for your collection.
