Tomorrow the boys will join us for the evening ,we never know what to expect or how many but its always fun.

We had to bump the boys visit up a day this week and I think they had a great time ,I know I did. Our newest young man was finally willing to pick one of my prized hot wheels/Match box cars off the wall to take home with him as a reminder of our fun times together .I let each of the boys drive one of our old cars from the shop to line up in front of the house to wash all the cars .They had a blast playing and washing the cars and getting to drive them that short distance and no they cant drive them on the street . We always look forward to their visit each week and I hope they feel the same.

You are so cool flash. Those boys have to light up when they get behind the wheel. Many boys never get the opportunity to drive a car like yours, and for them to think that you trust them enough to get behind the wheel, must make them feel so special. You and Joan are just so amazing to welcome them into your life. Wow...

We had the boys over tonight to change the oil ,replace brake pads and just general maintenance type things as Wade just got his first wheels .We also found out that we will be getting another young man soon (if we wish said the foster parents ) .Of course we said bring him on ,we cant wait to meet him .They keep me quite busy as they each need their own time with me when we are in the shop and Joan spoils them in the house .They are such a joy to have and spend time with .

John, I commend you for what you and Joan do for these boys. My hat is off to you.

John, I can only imagine how excited you are to get another young man. I know that he will be another lucky young man.

We arent really doing anything special ,just letting them be boys once or twice a week .They are under a lot of stress at home and we try to take some of that off of them at our place and just let them have some fun. These boys are really special to us and just need a little spoiling .

And you and Joan need to do the spoiling. They enjoy your company just as much as you enjoy theirs.

We really enjoy our time with them and they with us ,so I guess we all win in this game .They make you laugh and sometimes they make you cry ,but its good for us and I hope good for them.I think sometimes they just need to be loved and have someone to love back .I wish we could do more for them but then again they need to learn to work toward their goals .Thanks for all your support and encouragement.

I forgot to post that we got our newest young man a few weeks ago ,his name is Brandon and he is 18 years old and a really sweet kid .He has a young son 6 months old by a former girl friend but he is very involved with his son. He is very smart and is training to be a transmission tech at AAMCO and he also loves the old cars .He didnt quite know what to think of us to start but he is now just part of the family .I dont know just how big our family will get but they are all welcome here.

Good for you John for helping these young men. You are a good role model for them.

Your family will get as big as your heart John. And as far as I know, you and Joan have huge hearts so there is plenty of room for these boys.

I had told Brandon a while badk that we would like to get to know him better and out of the blue he called me yesterday and said he would like to come over and let us get to know him more. .We had a meal together and just chatted and the more we get to know him the more we love him. Then Joan asked if he wanted to go cruisin in the vert and he couldnt get in the car fast enough.He is a really great kid and we feel lucky to be a small part of his life.When he got ready to leave he said he loved us ,what a great time we had together .

Sounds like you have already made an impact on this young mans life. He is lucky to have you and Joan.

I think Joan and I are the lucky ones to be a part of something so special with these young men. We will have a house full tonight ,they will all be there and they are bringing over some friends .Its been a few weeks since we have had them all together at once and we are looking forward to tonight.

Man, I wish I had been free for the evening. I would have stopped over. It may have taken me about 13 hours or so, to get there, but I would have loved to meet your boys.

Its been a while since I gave an update on our boys ,we have a total of 7 counting the 3 that are no longer with us weekly .One went back to his natural family a while back and we plan to be back in touch with him soon .Another was adopted to his forever home and we had him over for dinner last week and one is going back to his adoptive family .We got another one last night ,his name is Dakota and he is a lot of fun and is a real sweet guy .We look forward to getting to know him better which wont take long as he was with us tonight as well .So we still have 4 regular boys every week and whenever they want to come over they are always welcome .

It is so nice to hear that some of the boys still come over after they leave the boys home. I know that has to mean a lot to you and Joan.

Thanks for the update. By the way, who is the one who is helping you with the cam ?

Brandon is the driving force behind the cam swap even though we dont know what we are doing .

Dakota went with me, Joan and Brandon last night for his first ride in the convertible and he had a blast .We borrowed the keys to the bodyshop for a sneak peak at the truck ,the frame is now painted ,the bed is in primer and the rust has been cut out of the cab so its finally beginning to look like something . Boy ,I cant wait to get my new old truck back.
