After many hours and many many dollars I know have it fixed and it is now road worthy. And Brian as for the extended warrany, it was not offered, and when I did ask for a CARFAX it looked like it was hand written and he told me it was just the font he used to print it out. Check out the pics of the radio light and tail light fixed....sweet. ha

I really am looking forward to seeing all you guys next weekend. Let's hope the weather holds up.

I think Tony failed to mention the deductible you need to pay each time you use the warranty.

Hank70SS 09-03-2012 07:51 AM

John, we'll try to save you a spot. Get there on Saturday as early as you can, park opens at 7 on Saturday. Online registration is closed, you can register when you get there at Schaefer Bierlein Chrysler. Use the map Brian linked or Google Frankenmuth Autofest or the Chrysler dealer. We come from the south and you'll be coming from the north so I don't want to try to tell you how to get there. Once inside the park you'll follow the road, stay to the left. At the end of the road you drive on the grass, follow the river back towards the Bavarian Inn and covered bridge.

We should be in between the river and the inn. Look for 2 black Chevelle canopies. I have a 70, gold with white top. Tony is bringing his 55 Chevy nomad. They'll also be a yellow and a silver 69 Chevelle.

robo3 09-03-2012 05:01 PM

ill be there fri to walk the road .mabe ill try to register than

Good idea, it will save time on Saturday and you'll get your wrist bands for entry to the park. Other wise you would have to pay to go in on Friday then again on Saturday, it's only a few bucks but what the heck. Come find us on Friday then you'll know where to go on Saturday.

FlintTony 09-03-2012 06:01 PM

What's your name robo?

Ric, are you bringing paper plates and eating utensiles?

You guys want some Jack Daniels? I've got a few bottles here in the shop I can bring.

robo3 09-03-2012 06:47 PM

oh my name is john, do you guys and gals sit down in the (hole) with your cars fri evening? and what should i bring for supplys if you need any!

robo3 09-03-2012 09:35 PM

just registered 1194 # . registration was open till 12 am tonight on line

FlintTony 09-04-2012 04:47 AM

John, we usally leave the cars in the Park and walk downtown. It's way too crowded on Main street for me, plus I have a beer of 30, so I don't drive.

Not sure if you need to bring any supplies. If you drink beer, bring some.

See you there.

Forecast is much cooler and chance of ran. May need some Jack to keep warm. Just don't let Ray see it, he can drink it like water. J/K, don't think he'll drink since he's not staying overnight and has to drive home.

Not sure who all in the group is bringing stuff. Lynda said she'll make some spaghetti salad, cookies and ham rolls. We've got the grill and propane covered and you're welcome to use it. We'll have burgers and dogs and whatever pass arounds people bring.

Like Tony said we walk into town Friday and Saturday nights. Some cruise Main St for awhile Saturday night. Plan on walking several miles so wear some comfortable shoes.

FlintTony 09-04-2012 10:14 AM

Hey John...I just looked at your build pictures. Man, you've done a ton of work on that car. Sure does look good in the pictures. Can't wait to see it!

Ms Grumpy 09-04-2012 05:30 PM

There is a lot of walking, I do agree, but there are some beautiful cars. I am hoping that the weather cooperates.

I saw them too, ton of work and a great looking car. Wish I had the skills to do something like that.

Tony, you really should bring your 69 to Frankenmuth. It's a shame to have that beautiful car just sit in your garage and it would be a great addition to the other Chevelles, just saying.

If you do drink beer, bring plenty. It seems to go really fast there. If you don't, that's cool, you'll enjoy the weekend either way. Looking forward to meeting you and seeing your car. You have my cell#. Call me on Friday if you come up just to walk around. Then you'll know where we're at when you bring your car on Saturday.

FlintTony 09-05-2012 04:48 AM

Should be able to do that. They don't check or care if you go straight in. You can come and go as you please if you have the 2012 Autofest sticker in the window and a wrist band for everyone in the car. You normally get 2 wrist bands good for the weekend with your registration. I looked but didn't see it this year, hope they didn't change it.

robo3 09-05-2012 06:22 PM

ok ill call you fri eve and save me a spot !

Beer is on ice, Nomad is packed, the stinking weather looks like crap for tomorrow. See you all in the morning.

Beer is in the fridge, throw it in the cooler, then in the trunk and we're ready to roll.

Weather doesn't look, good. Sounds like a day of sitting under canopies, drinking beer and telling stories. That's if the canopies don't blow away, in which case we'll have to move inside the BI. Saturday will be cool but low chance of rain.

We're going to meet Ric in Fenton at 6:30 so should be there by 7:30, if Eric can keep up.

If you have any of his cd's maybe you could burn me some copies. They make awesome frisbies and the dog loves chewing on them. I tried hip-hop and rap but she wouldn't go near them.

Ms Grumpy 09-06-2012 07:28 PM

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that the weather will cooperate with you guys. I have seen that it is going to be cooler on Sat and Sun, but the rain is not in the picture.

I hope to be able to come up there this weekend, if not I hope to see some pics.

All packed and ready to GO. Hank, Eric and John are meeting up with us at McDonalds @ 6:30, We will have to let Eric lead as he is running 411's....but so is John but he has that 6 speed that he can do 90 @ 2000 rpm. Also, I threw duct tape and bungee cords in the trunk to tie the tents together in case of wind. Also got the umbrella's in the trunk.

Mike (the Henry J) is part of the featured cars up there and gets a special spot up town right next to Zenders in that little park next to the river for the weekend, its suppose to be all Kaisers which also made the Henry J

Ms Grumpy 09-06-2012 09:17 PM

Are you guys looking to be in the spot where we saw you before. Right near the hotel ?

That is what we are shooting for, we have been able to get it for the last 4 years....Tony and Hank don't like the short walk far to their rooms after all the drinking and bragging.

robo3 09-07-2012 06:30 AM

dont forget to save me a spot !!

flash 09-07-2012 10:29 PM

Ya'll take lots of pics for those of us that would love to be there .

Hank70SS 09-09-2012 10:40 AM

Just got home, it was great weekend. Started raining around 8 PM Friday and probably dropped an inch on us. Saturday was a nice day and we didn't have to post bail for anyone all weekend, so all and all a pretty good weekend.

Robo3 joined us, he did a beautiful job on his 70, very nice car. Was good to see everyone again and meet John.

RBeckman 09-09-2012 04:00 PM

I just got home, when I went back down to the park this morning @ 9:30 everyone was gone except my tent and chairs and empty beer cans. Stayed for the award ceremony as a friend of mine that has parked with us before won top awards for the featured car make of the event (Kaiser), he has a 52 Henry J that he restored and won top honors so I stayed and took pictures for him.

It has been one long weekend, cars, beer, cars, food and more beer...I need to to go back to work for a vacation......and to help pay for all the retirees that were with us..ha

Ohhh, look a bunny. You had to be there to understand that comment.

robo3 09-09-2012 04:53 PM

great to meet you guys ! day went by way to fast to get to know everyone. mabe next year ! Waving

FlintTony 09-09-2012 06:21 PM

I found out that at 6AM, there was only one fool in the park. Me. I had to walk around smoking for an hour or so before I could even get in.

Had a good time again. We walked around on Main Street Sat night for a few hous, had a few more beers, then called it a day. Only casualty was our tent. I looked for a donation can that you guys set up for a new one, but somebody must have stolen it.

Hank, be sure and tell Lynda thanks for making the cookies, salad, and ham rolls, Ric, thanks for all the fixins. John, hope to see you next year. Again, beautiful job on the Chevelle. I hope Henry got the grill back to his ride. He just did'nt seem to excited about getting up at 7 this morning.

Checked my email when we got home. A guy from the one of the other sites I visit wants to buy my Chevelle.

Ms Grumpy 09-09-2012 06:37 PM

Sounds like you guys had a blast. I got stuck Sat. taking David to Ypsilanti.

Gotta know about the "bunny" comment. PM me..... :)

So what happened to the tent ?

Congrats Tony on the possible sale of the Chevelle ?

flash 09-09-2012 08:40 PM

I know its an oversight on somebodys part ,but where are the pics and what happened to the poor bunny ?

FlintTony 09-10-2012 04:20 AM

My canopy-tent got crushed by all the rain that accumulated on the roof. It made some pockets that held buckets of rain. The weight started snapping the aluminum supports, then it just collapsed. There were a bunch of them that happened to.

I'm not too sure that I want to sell the Chevelle. I had it listed a couple of years ago, but everyone wanted to beat me up on the price. I'm not in any hurry to see it go, so chances are pretty good I will keep it.

You couldn't just walk out the side door of the inn and into the park?

I'll tell her and thanks for supplying the burgers and dogs again. They let us drive Henry's car down into the park Sunday morning, done that in the past too so no problem.

We did have a good weekend with some good friends. The bunny, comes from a t-shirt I saw in FL.

"It's not that I have A.D.D., it's just that... Oh look a bunny!"

We threw out the "Oh look a bunny" whenever someone suddenly changed subjects or got distracted by other things. Had a good time with John on that one. Not robo3, another John that's part of our group.

Flash, Tony was in charge of pictures this year, so don't hold your breath.
