Maybe you can collect enough scrap pieces to build that blueberry stand out at the road.

I should be able to make a nice one! You gonna come down and run the stand?

FlintTony 12-06-2013 06:23 PM

More done today. The crew is done until Monday. They are supposed to set the posts for the attached garage on Monday and start roof sheeting Tuesday. The place is looking just like I envisioned when I started drawing it out.

This guy stopped by to give me a price on doing the interior trim. He showed everyone his new trim saw.

Looking good Tony, can't wait to see how the house framed as I can't picture it yet with all the 6x6's in the ground...I'm thinking some sort of wrap around porch?

FlintTony 12-07-2013 04:19 AM

Yes Ric. The front, side, and rear all have an eight foot porch. I'll screen in a section on the rear, off the kitchen, for a breakfast area.

I thought Ric and Brian and I were supposed to pick them, now we have to run the stand too?

It's really shaping up nicely Tony. You're going to have a really nice place when it's done.

mestorod70 12-07-2013 09:14 AM

From the prints...looks like you have some bob cats.
This is where one of those game cameras becomes fun.

Yep. You guys are gonna be the "worker-bees". I'm going to be the BOSS.

I was hoping someone would be able to tell me what they are. Thanks. Wonder how my dogs will act if they set a cat that size?

Okay BOSS MAN! I'll run the stand, Ric and Brian can pick the berries. They can take turns, one picking, one keeping a lookout for bobcats.

I know, Ric and Brian are thinking WHAT? Remember guys, I have to deal with the public. People trying to steal our, I mean Tony's, berries. Trying to bargain on the price. You guys will have it easy.

If they are smart, they will run. Those things are viscous and will tear you to shreds. A deer slug or .308 round will fix the situation permanently.

FlintTony 12-08-2013 04:13 AM

Looks like I will have to promote one of you guys to "Wild-life management". I can supply the fire-arms and ammo, but you must use ammo sparingly, due to increased cost. One shot, one kill.

Hank70SS 12-08-2013 06:48 AM

Guess I better start doing some target practice. I don't trust Ric or Brian with a weapon, don't want to get shot in the back while I'm trying to sell berries.

mestorod70 12-08-2013 09:32 AM

bob cats

Here are some bobcats in my backyard.
They keep the smaller criters at bay.
They dont mess with my cat..they wont risk geting hurt in a fight.
Im pretty sure you cant go shooting them willy nilly but i think there is a
season for them if you must.
I personaly think they are verry COOL.
Whatever you do...FFS dont shoot a panther...its big jail time.!

You can't shoot them till you see white of there eyes.

FlintTony 12-08-2013 11:10 AM

I wouldn't shoot them for any reason except for my own safety, and I figure if I leave them alone, they will leave me alone. One of the reasons I'm building in the sticks is for the wild-life. I likes me some wild animals.

Until you leave the front door open and in comes a alligator or the Bob cat.

Well, that too I guess.

flash 12-08-2013 06:13 PM

We had a Bobcat come inside our shop at work a few years back ,he was not afraid of us either ,he used to nose around looking for food .He was very scrawny ,almost sick looking ,but never bothered anything .

RBeckman 12-08-2013 09:02 PM

I'm sure Kathy will be feeding it so Tony will have a pet Bob Cat in Florida...hope the dogs like it.

FlintTony 12-11-2013 06:25 PM

I have some new pictures. Will post them in the morning. I gotta go do dishes.

flash 12-11-2013 06:32 PM

That thing cost me 60 bucks a month to rent. The code says that I must have one on the job-site. The septic tank was installed yesterday, should have an inspection on it today. Next is the well, then I'll get the ground-work plumbing done. Hope to get down there right after the first of the year to do that. I want to get a water closet hooked up and working ASAP, so I am not renting that one.

Yep , should be a pretty nice shop. 40x48 with 14' sidewalls. Lots of room for a lift.

Gotta leave them until it's all done so we can see start to finish. That water closest isn't going to be a crapper on the front porch is it? Like the pic Ric posted.

FlintTony 12-13-2013 06:40 PM

OK. Got some more today. Crapper will de excatley like the one on the porch.

Framing is done. Septic inspected and passed. Contractor is starting the facia and roof steel

PS...I learned how to put words with the pictures. I think.

You're going to put Kathy out of a job!

Guy in the first pic looks like "Uh Oh, what do we do know?"

Going to have to swing by while we're in FL. If you're not there maybe Doug can let us take a look. Like to see it in person. t's going to be awesome Tony.

FlintTony 12-14-2013 09:55 AM

Depends on when you are going to be there. I'll be there the first couple of weeks in Jan. Unless something changes. If not, Doug will give you the 50 cent tour.

FlintTony 12-14-2013 12:33 PM

OK. I've been messing around on the computer and I think I figured out how to put the property info on here. I'll post it and if it works, cool. If not, I'll keep trying. Oh wait, I can click on it myself to see if it works.

Well I'll be damned!! I made the pictures come right through the air!!!
