Pulled it with my Tundra pickup. Finished cleaning up the car tonight, got it waxed and polished out for the car show tomorrow. Also got the idle issue fixed today and put 0.7 tenths on the odometer today.

I second that !

Ms Grumpy 07-21-2012 09:33 PM

Had a busy day today. I was 50 miles from home at 5pm with grumpy. He knew I wanted to go to a local cruise tonight, but he wanted to go to his friends today. I got his behind in gear and started loading the truck with his guns ( grumpy is into air rifles and was at a friends house with a bunch of guys shooting). I made it back home by 6:15 and was in my car by 6:20 (he can unload the van).

Made it to a local cruise by 6:45, and when I pulled in I was waved over by one of my friends who had saved me a spot in a shaded area. How cool. Went inside the coney and ate. And by that time they were calling ticket numbers and my son Jacob, who has become my cruising buddy, had won a $15 gift certificate to the coney. Guess where we will be next weekend. Good friends, good food, I will be back.

We then headed out to Woodward to see what was happening. The Shell at Normandy was full, of course. Across the street the parking lot was full too. Many cars were lining the road in front of the closed businesses. And of course all the ice cream places had full parking lots. We cruised Woodward for about an hour checking out the cars. It seems so wierd that the WWDC is still a month away, I can't wait for the next few weeks to see how busy it gets.

Out having fun again with your son. He's going to want your Chevelle when he gets old enough to drive.

Ms Grumpy 07-22-2012 09:15 PM

Congratulations Ray ! A well deserved award. It is so nice that you were able to share it with your family on your first time out. How cool !

Great Pictures !!!

Ms Grumpy 07-22-2012 09:18 PM

Busy day for me too. Went to a local show and won a top 10 award. I was really surprised because there were so many beautiful cars there. I wanted to post a pic, but I am having a problem uploading pics tonight. So I will get a couple up tomorrow. To tired after being out in the 90+ degree sun for many, many hours today. But it was nice to turn on the a/c for the ride home.

Ms Grumpy 07-22-2012 09:20 PM

Hey, just a question. Is the El Camino, behind you in your trophy pic, driving down the railroad tracks ? :)

i can't seem to get rid of this one freaking oil leak from the back of the intake. once i finish this back to the chevelle :)

flash 07-23-2012 04:17 PM

I need to take the transmission off my 72 truck motor which is in back of my 74 Chevy truck but its so hot I cant seem to get motivated .I then need to clean the oil off the motor and take it to have a new cam and all new gaskets put in as it leaks oil everywhere there is a gasket due to it sitting all those years before I bought it. It ran strong and never smoked but leaked oil everywhere it was parked and I dont care for the Hot Rod cam that is in it .

carpoor 07-23-2012 09:34 PM

I borrowed my father's green 72' yesterday and went to the local Hooters for a small car show. Got caught in a nasty rain storm on the way home. Haven't had much time or decent weather lately to work on the car, it's depressing.

Ms Grumpy 07-23-2012 09:52 PM

Thanks Ray.

flash, I feel for you. This heat is unbearable. Please be careful, you already had a close call in this heat. I wish I was closer cause me and Jacob would be over to help you out.

After a busy weekend, and picking up my grand daughter today. I did nothing with my car. It might sit all week, as the weatherman has predicted rain til Friday. That is all right, as long as the weekend of August 2nd is nice.

shadowgray396 07-23-2012 11:00 PM

Mine has just been sitting under a cover, hadn't felt like working on it the last couple of days. I have a big show in a couple of weeks that I need to fix a couple of small issues so I can drive it there,

SS Shaun 07-24-2012 08:00 AM

camaro is DONE! all i need is a new battery! get this thing out of my garage and back to work on the chevelle! i hope to put the exhaust on this weekend and prime the motor and see what happens :)

BillsCamino 07-24-2012 08:32 AM

Flew up to NYC and drove out to Long Island yesterday to do some Chevelle shopping...
Bounced thru some pretty good storms along the East coast last night. It's HOT everywhere!!

SS Shaun 07-24-2012 09:08 AM

lol if you are still up here in NY area let me know i am about 80 miles from there

BillsCamino 07-24-2012 10:24 AM

Nope...came home last night... 5-6 hrs driving around NYC is enough for me.
But I may end up closer to you yet...been communicating with a guy outside Newburgh about a '66 300 Deluxe.

SS Shaun 07-24-2012 09:58 PM

clamped my hoses in place on the chevelle as well as put in the fuel lines from the fuel pump to the carb. trying to plan out what i want to do with my fuel line from the trunk i think i have it planned out

flash 07-25-2012 09:36 PM

I need to get the vert cleaned and packed for the trip to OHIO next week ,cant wait to see everyone .I need these few days off to get away from work and be around my good friends. God knows I miss all of you terribly and cant wait to head north ,these last few months have been pure HELL.

SS Shaun 07-25-2012 10:24 PM

wired the motor today and put in the ground wire on. tomorrow i will do the front harness and see what happens :)

shadowgray396 07-25-2012 10:50 PM

Uncovered the car tonight looked under the hood to see how I'm going to install the emergency brake cable, closed the hood and came back in. I'm thinking I might need to pull the left inner fender to install it.

carpoor 07-26-2012 01:02 PM

Didn't touch it, and I have the day off. :( I instead worked on the Monte Carlo to get it ready to be put up for sale. I have a few interested parties, and want to get it ready ASAP. The sooner it sells, the less I have to worry about.

Oh man....

Ms Grumpy 07-26-2012 08:29 PM

Didn't do anything with my car. This week has been busy taking care of my 6 yr old grand daughter. Man, I don't know how I survived my kids being this little. And to think I did it 6 times.

shadowgray396 07-26-2012 10:52 PM

Managed to unbolt a few bolts and get my hand up behind the inner fender and got the emergency brake cable to the pedal installed and through frame. Did manage to cut up my hand some. Just need to hook up the cable under the car to the rear brakes now. Just have a few little things to finish. Did notice a couple of small oil leaks under the car that should not be there.

SS Shaun 07-27-2012 08:48 PM

well the camaro is finally back home at my uncles house! so happy about that! now time to work on the chevelle. i didnt get to do anything today because it didnt rain so i had to do hard work then softball game. tomorrows forecast rain rain rain :) which means i can work on my car until 230 pm :)

carpoor 07-28-2012 05:10 PM

I changed plugs in the green bean this morning, and replaced a missing header bolt. The heat kicked my butt even though I started early. (7am) I will be getting up early tomorrow to give a good wash before heading to a local car show. Trying to stay motivated to work on my car, but this heat is brutal lately.

I'm also a bit overwhelmed with all the projects. I am jumping around trying to get everything done. I have the Monte Carlo and my truck to get ready to put up for sale. That is money just sitting, so it has been my priority lately.

SS Shaun 07-28-2012 10:01 PM

i did nothing today with mine :(

Ms Grumpy 07-29-2012 01:39 AM

Saturday was a beautiful day here. But my car sat in the garage as I had a birthday party for my grand daughter. :(

carpoor 07-29-2012 07:20 AM

Car is washed, leaving in about an hour :)

shadowgray396 07-29-2012 09:24 AM

Going to a car show down the street from the house today.

BillsCamino 07-29-2012 03:54 PM

I bought one today...no more empty shop. I've got me a retirement project :)
Pick it up on Wed and probably drag it to the OH show on the way back to GA.

flash 07-29-2012 07:40 PM

I cleaned the 72 vert today in preparation for the trip to Ohio ,gassed it up and met another Chevelle owner a couple of miles from my house .This guy was out test driving a Hot Rod coupe (Ford I think) when his clutch linkage broke so I helped him push it into a turn around space and followed him home where he showed me a very nice 66 Chevelle that he is finishing up. I will try to get him to join us here next time we meet ,very nice guy too.

shadowgray396 07-30-2012 08:23 PM

No car show yesterday, my wife had other idea's. Worked on the emerency brake tonight but must have a draw on the battery because it was almost dead. Not sure what drawing power to drain the battery. Still having electrical issues with the car. Looks like I will be taking the car over to someone who had the expertise to run it down.

flash 07-30-2012 09:20 PM

I got the vert packed and ready to head to Murphysboro Tenn on wednesday evening after work ,then head on up to Strongsville Ohio with a few of the Midsouth members Thursday morning .Cant wait to get there and see everyone and may sample some Orange Crush with Tom ,this could get interesting as I have not partaken in any alcoholic beverage of any kind in 20 years .
