Welcome Home

69chevelless 08-05-2012 06:45 PM

Let's see I went to a car show in the 69 at 9:30 left at 1:30 then went straight to my boat, friend came with his camaro and then did a bunch of burnouts on the way home. I just got back and I thought it was gonna rain so I was flyin.

Ms Grumpy 08-05-2012 06:50 PM

Drove home from the ACES NorthEast regional NOCC show today. It wouldn't be the NOCC show without me having some sort of car problems. But the bonus is, she made there and home on her own power ! YEAH !!!!

shadowgray396 08-05-2012 09:13 PM

Alright no car problems is a plus Nancy. Looks like I might need to replace a voltage regulator. I'm not charging my battery for some reason. Just another electrical issue I seem to be dealing with on this car.

SS Shaun 08-05-2012 10:31 PM

got a lot done today new brake lines are in the rear, and fuel line is ran from the tank to the engine bay now to the interior!

Got the driver's door open! I have been having an issue with the latch assembly. Haven't been able to pop it open for months. On a whim, I gave it a shot and it unlocked first try. I had just gotten home from work and the idea popped into my head to try it. I have a good used latch I am going to replace it with later today.

Monte666 08-08-2012 10:34 AM

New heater control valve cap and rotor

From my Damn phone

Ms Grumpy 08-09-2012 02:11 AM

Nothing today, have to get brave and pull her out to see what damage, if any, I may have done to the trans on my trip to the Ohio show. I have to see cause with the WWDC and the Berkley Parade coming up I need to know.

shadowgray396 08-09-2012 07:34 AM

Been out of town all week so Chevelle is in the garage covered up. Need to figure out why my battery is not getting a charge on Sat and going to a car show on Sunday.

200-4R correct?

What is it doing? I have a bad slip pretty in mine (and it was a Stage 2/billet CK Performance Trans) much through all of 2nd gear and if you apply much more than 1/4 throttle it just revs and slips bad.

I hope Jake's Performance finishes my 4L80E soon!!!! I have to just put around everywhere right now.

Edit: just called and my trans should be shipping out next week.

fleming23 08-09-2012 03:57 PM

Should probably have my car running at 100% again before I start ordering things but today I decided I wanted the Dakota Digital VXH gauges in Carbon/Blue along with the trans temperature add-on module. I am having Jake's put a temp port on my 4L80 and I just want to monitor my car's vitals better than can be done with the stock SS gauges. I am not a fan of the 3 gauges under the dash or that would have been the much cheaper & easier way.

My oil pressure gauge is mounted way low where I don't really even see it unless I purposely look. This will put everything where it needs to be in a hopefully accurate cluster. I am still not sure I am 100% sold on the way the gauge faces look but like everything else, hopefully it will grow on me. It took a good bit of debate before I could decide on a color combo but in the end realized I didn't like the look of the silver during the day and the blue would more closely match my Ausley radio text.

Matt's Classic Bowtie said 7-14 days before they ship so hopefully in a few weeks they will be here and I can yet again, tear my dash apart.

flash 08-09-2012 07:04 PM

I put the top up in order to move the vert out of the way for one of the boys to tinker on his truck today .Actually we tinkered on it together and then I worked on my old 74 Chevy stepper .

carpoor 08-11-2012 01:51 PM

The engine is all sorted out finally, pushrods have been ordered. I am too tired, and it's too hot to go back out and swap out that door latch - so it can wait a few more days. Back to work on the frame and front suspension next week. October is approaching fast, that is my self-imposed deadline to get it running.

shadowgray396 08-11-2012 09:28 PM

I torqued my front end again on my car and got it ready for a car show tomorrow. Looks like another hot show with the temps around mid 90's tomorrow.

shadowgray396 08-12-2012 06:23 PM

Spent the day at a car show for Make a Wish Foundation today. Photos below

Drove our vert over to see our boys for a few munites and then went cruising .

shadowgray396 08-12-2012 10:22 PM

Took a shake down cruise tonight. Car really gets up and goes. First time I have really had it out on the road. Guess I should put a license plate on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

flash 08-13-2012 04:02 PM

Nah ,just dont stop for them blue lights . It looks like rain here this evening so I wont be getting the cars out .

carpoor 08-13-2012 04:59 PM

More scraping, sanding, and wire brushing the frame today after work. I am slap wore out between the heat and all the crouching and bending to reach everything. I am off tomorrow, with a little luck I will have it all in primer tomorrow and can start prepping for paint. I am beyond ready to have this thing back together. :grumpy:

I was beyond ready for 6 more years after I thought I would have it done.

carpoor 08-13-2012 08:13 PM

This car has been in my family a little over six years. I started gathering parts in October of 2010. I pulled the driveline last year starting in April. If I can make my October deadline, that will put me at two years. I originally intended it to only be down for six months. Very overzealous on my part.

Ms Grumpy 08-13-2012 11:01 PM

Spent the day making phone calls and waiting on phone calls. Now we just have to make arrangements to have my car taken to the trans shop.

SS Shaun 08-13-2012 11:15 PM

ordered a bunch of parts for mine today hope to have it by Friday so i can do some work on it..lol

I know how that is, hoping my pushrods get here no later than Friday so I can install them and run the valves this weekend.

I went out first thing this morning and started prepping, masking, etc. Then squirted on a coat of primer. I still have to lay under it and eat dirt while I clean the bottom of the frame rails. But, the top and side are pretty much done and ready for paint.

Ms Grumpy 08-14-2012 06:16 PM

Looking good. I hope your parts get here by Friday.

shadowgray396 08-14-2012 07:46 PM

Going to look great when you get it painted. All the hard work will pay off.

carpoor 08-16-2012 01:51 PM

Just spent a few minutes after work installing my lifters. Damn it's hot out there! The weather app on my phone says, "real feel - 111*"

It is looking like I will have my pushrods later today, but the poly locks are another story. Those may not show until Monday, which would keep me from running the valves this weekend.

I have plenty to keep me busy, but was really hoping to have all of the parts by Saturday.

Ms Grumpy 08-16-2012 08:59 PM

111 degrees ?? You must be in Nevada or Arizona. Where ever you are....it is damn hot !

Only 74 degrees here at 10pm. ahhhhhhhh

69chevelless 08-16-2012 10:49 PM

I'm in Maine right now, it rained all day and the weather sucked.

carpoor 08-17-2012 12:52 PM

I live about 30 minutes NE of "the mouse." ;)

SS Shaun 08-17-2012 09:31 PM

i waited all morning for my part and it never showed up! so here is what i did today
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...-35-00_845.jpg

http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...9-19-59_83.jpg
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...-19-49_264.jpg

then at 8pm look what shows up
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...9-52-55_98.jpg
the part i waited for finally showed up when i am cleaning up and getting ready to eat dinner!..lol

Ms Grumpy 08-17-2012 09:38 PM

I said "screw it" and drove my car in the Berkley Cruise Fest Parade today. I don't have 3rd or 4th gear and only drive the car about 20mph, which was OK. Considering that there was a lot of traffic getting to the parade staging and then in the parade I don't even know if I stepped on the gas more than 4 times in the parade.

Had a great time with my kids and grand daughter. Tomorrow I am going to take it out to my parking spot on Woodward and 12 mile (1 1/2 from my house) and I will park it all day.
