I feel for you guys up there with all the snow and ice ,you deal with it much better than I would .My feet get cold and I am pretty much shot.

carpoor 01-07-2014 06:49 PM

What a miserable day, the wind just wouldn't quit. I think I am getting sick. I have a sore throat and I am getting congested. Nyquil here I come!

Hope you feel better. I just arrived in Florida after a day of delays and it's 39 here.

flash 01-07-2014 08:53 PM

For Florida 39 is pretty cold ,its 15 here currently ,carpoor ,I hope you feel better soon .Take a double dose of Nyquill at bedtime and I bet you fell better by morning .

BillsCamino 01-08-2014 10:11 AM

Just hit 33 degrees !!!! First time above freezing in over 48 hours!!! :ntwrthy:

flash 01-08-2014 11:19 AM

Its not too bad out there compared to the last couple of days .I went to work this morning and we were greeted with a frozen waterfall coming out of our Library ,seems the sprinklers decided to freeze and leak all over the top floor .Luckily it drained out the two main front doors and spared us the bottom 2 levels ,what a mess .

Hank70SS 01-08-2014 06:10 PM

Forecast is 40* and up to an inch of rain on Saturday. The ground is frozen several feet down, there's close to 2' of snow on top. If it get's cold again, which it will, we'll have one hell of an ice skating rink around here.

shadowgray396 01-08-2014 07:38 PM

Where all that water going to go? Hit 67 today in Orlando today. Have a 5k race to be at 5:30 in the morning.

That's a good question Ray. We don't have sewers here. The roads are lined with several feet of hard packed snow and ice from the plow trucks. Not sure if that snow will be able to absorb the water so it can run off the road. I'm sure we'll have a good size lake at the back of the yard, if the water can get there. It goes back about 200' and drops about 4' lower than at the house. Pond hockey anyone?

shadowgray396 01-10-2014 01:53 PM

Upper 70's today. I have to be up at 3am tomorrow for a half marathon race. My son inlaw is running. 5 or 10K is my limit.

Ken Hayes 01-10-2014 03:06 PM

Good luck.

Ms Grumpy 01-10-2014 05:24 PM

Hank, I hope you are doing OK with the melting snow. I know it has been above freezing since 8am this morning. And most side streets are just mush. I cleaned up the end of my driveway, the kids had it shoveled earlier in the week and then the snow plow just piled it up so much that had to drive on an angle just to get up the driveway. Almost a straight driveway now. Just worried about the ice, have a small build up on one corner of the house. I am hoping that the weather stays warm enough to melt it, and a lot of the snow away.

shadowgray396 01-11-2014 02:29 AM

72 at 3am getting ready for half marathon. Have to be there by 4 am. It's only midnight if I was were in Oregon.

carpoor 01-11-2014 06:43 AM

Still sick, but at least the weather has warmed up. I put in over 65 hours Sunday - Friday between both jobs. So glad to have a day off today. Hoping to rest up, but have a feeling that won't happen. Currently 68* with a light drizzle.

BillsCamino 01-11-2014 06:54 AM

70 degrees, heavy rain, thunder and tornado warnings this morning...

Hank70SS 01-11-2014 07:29 AM

It's about 37 here and light rain. Everything is dripping wet, not from the rain either. The underside of the upstairs deck, the aluminum under the eaves, anything metal. I hate to look in the shed, I'm sure everything in there is soaked. Supposed to go to around 42 today, that will get rid of a lot of these snow piles.

flash 01-11-2014 09:49 AM

49 degrees and sopping wet ,rain all day yesterday and heavy rain so far today ,I hope this is not a sign of a non convertible year again.

Hank, I don't know about you, but there is so much standing water everywhere. And this being Michigan, the temp will drop and it will all turn to ice. I am so glad that my car is not in my garage. The kids piled snow in front of the big door that I can't even open it. And they used the small piece between the driveway and garage to stack snow. I am so tired of reshoveling snow from where it should not be. You would think that they have helped me shovel for years and that they would remember.

shadowgray396 01-12-2014 06:20 PM

Returned to Oregon to rain and 45 degrees. Hard to leave Florida's warm weather. I just hope my daughter starts to feels better. Been sick since getting pregnant. Will be back in July when she delivers. Hope everyone else is doing ok with all the snow and rain.

flash 01-12-2014 07:37 PM

We finally got in a nice day today ,it was sunny all day and not too cold .

shadowgray396 01-15-2014 08:17 AM

We were at 59 today with sun. It should be around 35 this time of the year.

Ms Grumpy 01-15-2014 06:25 PM

28 degrees today. And now it started snowing again. From what I understand we are supposed to have 3 cold fronts, one right after another, come in this weekend. We will get back down to the single digits for lows.

Isn't it spring yet ??????

Ken Hayes 01-16-2014 11:10 AM

Right now its 22*, windy and that crap is fallin out of the sky again.........cmon spring, cmon spring.

On a good note.......only 107 days till Bakers.

EDIT:.....Well we got just under 2" snow. Wasnt a real wet or real dry snow.........sure did fly with the small blower though.

shadowgray396 01-18-2014 06:43 PM

No rain or snow in the forecast again for next week. Looks like we will stay around 50 next week in Oregon. We are 9 inches below normal for rain fall this year. Drought will be a problem for summer this year if things don't change. If I was home I would be driving my Chevelle. Looks like Phoenix Az is going to be in the upper 70's next week.

Ms Grumpy 01-19-2014 05:50 PM

Wasn't too bad today. 27 degrees. But I understand that we are in for another arctic freeze in the upcoming week. Someone needs to post some summer pictures soon cause we need some hope.

flash 01-19-2014 06:05 PM

It was sunny here and around 50 degrees ,not too bad .I had to be out at my shop quite a while gathering all my truck parts to take to the bodyshop tomorrow.

Ken Hayes 01-19-2014 08:48 PM

Good luck John...........waitin to see that truck all done and on the road again.

flash 01-19-2014 09:37 PM

Im hoping for early spring ,Im taking the new crate motor ,rebuilt trans ,inner fenders ,core support ,new grill and surround ,a case of oil ,2 oil filters ,2 gallons of trans fluid ,2 gallons of antifreeze ,new motor and trans mounts ,new fuel and water pumps ,all belts and hoses ,and everything else I could think of .I have a trailer load of stuff for them. I hope this is going to be the final push to finish it .Only problem is its going to be so nice I will be afraid to drive it ,much nicer than I had originally planned .I hope it comes home just short of its 3rd anniversary in the shop.

Hank70SS 01-21-2014 07:09 AM

Here we go again, 1* here this morning. Cold is supposed to hang around for a few days.

shadowgray396 01-21-2014 10:52 AM

Some parts of Oregon were at 60 yesterday. Not a normal winter for us.

flash 01-21-2014 02:16 PM

We were close to 60 yesterday and we are now getting brutal high winds ,snow flurries and very cold temps to follow ,Im ready for spring .

Hank70SS 01-21-2014 06:37 PM

Supposed to be nasty cold for the next week. Got the gas bill for 12/14/2013 through 1/16/2014. Actually a pleasant surprise, only $169 and change. I was thinking at least $200. Hopefully the electric bill will be around the same or less.

shadowgray396 01-21-2014 06:40 PM

Sounds like a propane shortage on your end of the world because of all the cold.

I was surprised with mine too. I am just waiting for the gas company to tell me they made a mistake. But I will say that since they put the new box in, my gas bill has been lower.

Ms Grumpy 01-21-2014 08:14 PM

So I was out tonight and the thermometer in my van said 7 degrees. And this was only at 7pm tonight. Hubby said that the temps are supposed to drop below zero tonight. Another arctic freeze in Michigan.

Ken Hayes 01-21-2014 10:03 PM

Its 11:00 and now its at 1*.......gotta find that extra blanket for sure.

Hank70SS 01-22-2014 07:21 AM

Along with artic temps the snowfall has been a real bonus too. We're on pace to have the snowiest January on record. We only need about 2" to break the record.

flash 01-22-2014 08:38 AM

Hank ,there you go cussing again ,I hate that stuff .

Ken Hayes 01-22-2014 08:53 AM

10 to 10 and its -2*........Hank, more snow on the way today.

mestorod70 01-22-2014 09:05 AM

Wish you people up there would stop ordering this weather.
