Ken Hayes 02-19-2014 11:04 AM

Last night at midnight when I went to bed it was the highest temp of the day 40*. Right now at noon its 40* CMON SPRING !!!!!!!!!!!

Ms Grumpy 02-19-2014 06:02 PM

The thermostat in the van must be broken. It said 46 today when I was in West Bloomfield. I know that can't be right because this is Michigan.

flash 02-19-2014 06:48 PM

Today was cloudy cut warm ,no complaints here.

shadowgray396 02-19-2014 09:41 PM

One more day of hard rain and we dry out for at least the weekend. Been flooding all over the area the last few days.

Ken Hayes 02-20-2014 09:49 AM

It was correct Nancy.

Ken Hayes 02-20-2014 10:50 AM

Today we are supposed to be in the mid 40's* with rain and high winds. WOW, talk about some crazy ass weather.......right now its 34*, it rained for about 30 seconds with thunder and all, and immediatly it turned to snow. Been snowin for less than 30 min. with thunder and we have almost 2" on the ground. This snow is really comin down hard and fast. Is this stuff ever gonna stop?

flash 02-20-2014 11:18 AM

Its mostly cloudy here with temps around 70 I would guess ,no thermometer ,but I like it. It may get stormy later tonight if their predictions ring true .

Ms Grumpy 02-20-2014 01:40 PM

We have over an inch on the ground. Now the weather stations are saying no rain today but 1-3 inches of snow. Maybe rain tonight. But high winds blowing up to 50 mph. Hang onto your hats boys, it is going to be a long night with that huge weeping willow in my back yard.

My momma told me... if you don't have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

I am mad. It was so windy today that it took my 3 recycling bins and blew them away. Someone got 3 nice recycling bins. Even though they have my address on them, I won't get them back. :(

shadowgray396 02-21-2014 08:30 PM

We finally had somewhat nice day. Rained all day yesterday. Looks like the weekend is going to stay dry until monday.

carpoor 02-21-2014 09:00 PM

It has been in the mid 80s the past few days, hot & sunny. Today the rain came around 1pm and hasn't let up since. It is supposed to rain all weekend, clearing Tuesday.

Hank70SS 02-22-2014 10:25 AM

Mid 80's here too. No rain yet but the humidity shot up yesterday. Had to turn the air on, don't like being in the motorhome with it all closed up and the air on but it's too hot in here without the air.

BillsCamino 02-22-2014 10:30 AM

Mid 70s here in LA today...great weather for tonight's Mardi Gras parade down in Lafayette!!

Ken Hayes 02-22-2014 02:58 PM

Hey Hank, come on home....you'll love it..........NOT!!!!

RBeckman 02-22-2014 04:02 PM

26 and plenty of snow here in Petosky Michigan, just got back from a 60 mile snowmobile trip...so I like the cold and snow for this weekend. Now rest and go out for a nice diinner and adult beverages.

Ken Hayes 02-22-2014 07:32 PM

Used to go to the UP in the mid to late 70's snowmobilin. Went from Paradise to Marquete and back in 1 day. All the guys had sliders except me, I had bogie wheels on a 74 Suziki XR400. Talk about gettin the crap beat out of ya.

EDIT: I just checked and by car its 284 miles. We were on anything but a road. Traveled alot on the Lake Superior shoreline when we could.

flash 02-22-2014 08:18 PM

We took the Malibu out and dropped the top and cruised a few hours so that should tell you how our weather was today .

Ken Hayes 02-22-2014 09:48 PM

Dang John, rub it in.......LOL. Well I guess next week we're down to single digit temps at night again.

flash 02-22-2014 09:56 PM

Thats for you sending us snow a while back ,but we definitely have spring fever .

shadowgray396 02-22-2014 11:56 PM

Cleaned up yard debris and mowed the lawn, Oh I mean moss. Little cool, but the sun was out.

shadowgray396 02-25-2014 08:35 AM

Another fun day working in the rain up by Seattle today. I was soaked by the time I got to my Hotel. Even rain gear didn't help today.

Ms Grumpy 02-25-2014 07:22 PM

I have been dealing with trying to get rid of the ice left by the snow melting last week when we had a couple days in the high 30's. Now we have the next week of temps that will all be below 20 degrees. Don't expect to see 20+ degrees until next Tuesday.

And now we have spotty snow showers. Would someone please let Mother Nature that we have suffered enough.

carpoor 02-26-2014 04:20 PM

Rain is back, tomorrow mid 60s and more rain. It was high 70s and low 80s Monday and Tuesday.

flash 02-26-2014 06:33 PM

Its 33 degrees here and getting colder ,wind was cold all day today .

shadowgray396 02-26-2014 07:18 PM

Seattle had 19 straight days of rain as of last monday. The last 2 days have finally been nice and almost 60 today. Going to be in the 40's by the weekend up here. I'm headed back down to Oregon on Friday but looks like rain over the weekend.

"This Is the City Hardest Hit By the Awful Winter
By David Winograd @davidwinogradFeb. 25, 2014"

Follow @TIME

"This winter has been among the worst in years for many parts of the U.S., but a new weather index finds that it’s been especially bad for one city in particular.

On a relative basis, Detroit is experiencing the most extreme weather of any city in the country, the Associated Press reported Tuesday. That report was based on an index created by National Weather Service meteorologist Barbara Mayes Boustead.

Boustead’s analysis, based on cold temperatures and snowfall, found that Detroit is in the middle of its harshest winter since 1950. Detroit has had 6.5 feet of snow so far this winter and 100 days of below-freezing temperatures.

New York, Milwaukee and Duluth, Minn. also topped Boustead’s extreme weather index—those cities are experience their fourth worst winters—while Minneapolis-St. Paul, Louisville and Cheyenne, Wyo. are experiencing winters that rank in their respective top 10 worst.

Much of Detroit’s extreme weather this winter can be attributed to geography and bad luck, the index’s co-creater Steve Hilberg explained, as a change in the jet stream has directed arctic winter air towards the city."

shadowgray396 03-03-2014 09:52 PM

We hit 61 today, but it poured most of the day. Looking like around 60 the rest of the week, but the rain is going to be here also. Mountain snow is going to start to melt so the rivers are going to rise even more then they are already.

Ms Grumpy 03-04-2014 08:16 PM

Ray are they predicting a lot of flooding in your area ??

Here we are still dealing with the frigid cold. But the weather man says that we might get into the the 30's. Above freezing....that is almost unreal for us.

shadowgray396 03-04-2014 10:23 PM

There is a good chance our local rivers are going to flood by the weekend. We are expecting between 2 to 4 inches of rain in the next 2 days with freezing levels being high in the mountains. Our 2 large rivers the Willamette and the Columbia are already starting to climb, but so far are below flood stage. Good chance we will have mud slides like California is having with all this rain. We are now caught up on the rain gauge for the year.

Ms Grumpy 03-05-2014 06:43 PM

So we hit about 20 today. The sun was shining and some of the ice that has built up since the last snow storm, is starting to melt off the roof. It is just so frustrating, I had all the ice off the roof and then after the snow the last time it built up a little bit. I just can't win !!

flash 03-05-2014 06:55 PM

It was nice and sunny here today with a high of about 60 degrees .

carpoor 03-06-2014 11:13 AM

Currently crappy, rainy, and 68*. Sitting on a job site waiting for another sub to get out of my way. And, hoping the rain will let up long enough for me to drag in my supplies.

Ms Grumpy 03-06-2014 07:36 PM

It looks like Friday might hit 39 or 40 degrees in Michigan. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

flash 03-06-2014 07:47 PM

Its cold and raining again here but at least it aint freezing ...................YET .

carpoor 03-07-2014 05:19 PM

Low 50s, windy, no sunshine, and just plain miserable today.

flash 03-07-2014 06:31 PM

This morning started with rain and cold but by noon it was sunny and almost warm .

shadowgray396 03-08-2014 09:56 PM

Still lots of rain here, it just poured at the beach today. Could even be outside for more then a few minutes without being soaked.
