We had some rain and I noticed standing water in the car the next day. Seems like its leaking in from the windshield and back glass area. I think te riveted studs that hold on the trim are leaking??? Good thing the interior is not in!

Im glad you found the leaks in time to fix them before the interior went in .

Most likely you have a rusted out corner. The studs should be welded in from the factory around the windows. The corners rust out on the chevelles because dirt and debris get into the corners and hold moisture and they rust out there first.

Ray I repaired those corners. There all metal. But when I did the repairs some of the factory studs had to be replaced. I replaced them with the screw in type. My guess is there leaking around them. I noticed its leaking from the the left and right bottoms of the rear glass. And on the drivers side bottom of the windshield. My glass guy says he can seal them with the urethane. I hope so!

The screw would not let a lot of water in if at all. It could just be the window did not get set correctly. If the urethane stops the leak you will know. I used the Butyl rope on mine when I set my windows. Heard so much pro and cons on which way to go. Heard urethane makes the cars to stiff and the glass can crack, other say no, butyl allows for flex ability but is hard to work with. Hard to believe what is true. Anyway good luck and check everything before you put the trim on. Car is looking good.

Just an update on this for anyone who cares... I was able to find some of this paint through my local PPG distributor. It is VERY expensive! I almost fell over when they told me the quart and gallon prices.

But, never one to half ass things on my car... I bought a quart. Hoping I can paint all of my wheels with just a quart of paint.
