I wish I had done a full 1/4. My father was dead set against it.
|
Getting there, finally done welding and grinding.
http://i.imgur.com/b1suftH.jpg Found these gems...rot holes packed with filler. http://i.imgur.com/pzZeOMR.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ZKySIPh.jpg The first one is the driver's door. The second one is the lip of the wheel well, behind the wheel opening molding. |
That was a ton of welding and grinding. Is your back sore?

My knees and feet bother me more than anything. Hopefully skim coat the entire panel by the end of the week. I am not super experienced with block sanding and getting panels laser straight. My dad is going to do what he can, and my friend with the Fairlane is going to do the rest. I need to pull both doors off and start on them.

Just a quick question.
Why are you skim coating the panel. |
Most of it gets sanded off, but new panel or not - they are never perfectly smooth and straight. Easier than just spot coating it.
|
Right when you strip a perfect factory car. There is bondo everywhere. They skim coated them before they painted them.
|
Skim coated the quarter after work, going to eat breakfast. Then head over to start sanding...

Keep at it. It will be over when ever. LOL I say that because I block sanded mine over and over for years. I am a little anal tho.
It is worth it in the end tho. |
