Started the final push to get the engine bay ready for the motor to go in. Need to figure out where the postive battery clip goes that holds the cable by the motor mount area.

This is where mine is located. I don't know if it was ever removed before i got the car but it looks like the mounts have never been off. I hope this helps.

I'm going to be replacing the carpet, shifter boot/bezel and installing 3 point front seat belts this weekend. If I have the time I also want to replace the plain chrome valve covers and air cleaner top with ones with a red bow tie and black Chevrolet on them.

where did you get that 3 point seatbelt from? i was thinking about getting something but i wasnt sure on the safety of it

thanks for the link! as far as what i did to the chevelle today i finally got the trunk looking almost stock i ran out of the splatter paint i hope my local stores have more :( if they do i can finish and put it the the way i want it and be done with the rear of my car for now :)

I packed all our stuff in the trunk for the return trip home in the morning ,but I did get to drive the Chevelle all day today.

finally the trunk looks like factory! just finished after 5 cans of splatter paint its done! now to let it dry and run the wiring harness to all of the lights and stuff cant wait!

Dropped mine off at the speedshop for some tuning and managed to squeeze 13 more horsepower out of it on the dyno. Not done but she is putting over 300 to the pavement which isn't bad out of a 350 running mechanical everything.

I didn't get anything done this weekend as planned.:mad: I forgot we had a wedding and reception on Saturday and Sunday I was sick as a dog with a stomach bug.:(

and tomorrow as long as its nice out i can open the garage and put the rear bumper on and put the wiring harness in place and finally say my rear is done and close the trunk

I plan to let my Chevelle rest today while I go to work on my rental house later today.

I have done nothing with my car since we tried to drive it to the Michigan Chevelle Club Picnic on Saturday. Didn't make it out of the subdivision and it was already running a little to hot to take on a 45 minute drive. I think the thermostat is stuck, but I have been so frustrated about it that I haven't wanted to go into the garage.

I looked under mine to see about a quarter size puddle of oil coming out of the tranny.
So i'm guessing that here pretty soon I'll have a lot of " what did you do to your Chevelle today" comments.:grumpy:

Didn't have any time, had to take my 10 yr old to the emergency room. The tire swing at school fell on her and 2 other girls. She should be fine just have to go see an orthopedic doc to get the all clear. Sore back and she gets out of doing everything for a week, besides it was raining today.

as for me lastnight i installed the rear wiring harness and middle harness. took off the gas tank so i can clean it up and paint it. going to order my new sending unit today so i can put it all back and have no worries.

Looked at the car today. Thought to myself how much detailing I have to do before I put it away for the winter. But I am not ready yet, to put it away. I am hoping to do a couple more "Trick or Trunk" shows before the end of the month.

I walked around ours today ,need to clean it tomorrow for another ride this weekend maybe.

Thanks that's what I needed. It's amazing it only bolts to one of the bolts on the mounts.

ordered a few things today my new sending unit, gasket and the hold down for it. sunday i am going to clean the tank and check for holes and rust and then paint it. what do you guys think for the paint? ryno lining :) since i have a whole can left from doing my father in laws truck bed...lol

I drove Joans vert to town after work and gave it a quick spray bath ,then I picked her up from work and took her to dinner and to the grocery store .Any excuse to drop the top and go for a ride.

We went to the local cruise in and hooked up with Wild Bill ,and Dewayne and their better halves ,sure was good to see them. Also took Chase and his girlfriend for a ride in Joans vert.

so today i had about an hour to kill so i went to the garage to check on my rear end i wanted to find out what i had for sure. so i popped the cover off and here is what i found

they are axles that can handle over 500ft tq so i think i will be good with these axles when i get the posi rear :)

so tomorrow if i can find another hour i will pull out the axle on one side and count the splines on my axle so i can order my new posi rear

I put new valve cover gaskets on yesterday.
I have a small oil leak that drips down from the front of the bell housing.
I have climbed under the car but could not locate the source.
When I stated looking around up top I noticed some moisture on the back of the valve cover, I figured what the heck I'll start there.
I'm not much of a wrench so I either fixed it or made it worse.

Boy you guys are busy. The only thing that I did today was talk about my car.

I went out to the shop and got the GPS out ,does that count ? All my time lately has been spent at the rental house trying to repair everything the previous tennants destroyed and spending quality time with our newly unofficially adopted boys.The boys are very fun and rewarding so I look forward to that ,the house not so much.

installed my new sending unit and gasket tomorrow i will install the gas tank and see if i can run a new line from the rear to the front

I looked at the Chevelle and El Camino for about 2 seconds then went to the renter house.

I hobbled past it and looked at the body work I did a week ago. I have an engine to build, then I can get back to it.

Drove the '67 again today...lovin' this Fall weather!! :cool:
Engine's running sweet...too bad it's coming out next month.
