Looks great. who did it for you?

carpoor 02-28-2013 08:59 AM

Cliff R. ;)

flash 02-28-2013 11:09 AM

That looks too nice to run the crapy gas we have now in so send it to me and I will take good care of it for you.

carpoor 02-28-2013 05:26 PM

No worries John, it will be fed a steady diet of 93 octane swill mixed with some av gas from the local air port.

grandsport 02-28-2013 05:37 PM

I sold it! :)

Sorry to hear that. We still like you on here. You may not like me but the last thing I would sell my Chevelle for is a Corvette. I have not driven one yet that I enjoyed driving. To many nicer cars out there for the money. But enjoy your new ride you deserve it. You will need to post pictures of your new ride when you get it. Don't be a stranger around here.

Ray

Congrats on the sale and post up some pics when you get your new toy.

I agree, I'm not a fan of the new plastic so called muscle cars either, especially a corvette.

shadowgray396 03-01-2013 09:35 PM

Took him, her or it out for a great drive today. Plan to join up with some friends tomorrow and go out to lunch with our cars. Felt good to get on it today and hear the motor roar.

BillsCamino 03-02-2013 08:25 AM

Still waiting on the new interior to arrive for mine.....:(

erndad 03-02-2013 09:14 AM

i sanded and re primered the drivers door in prep for paint...

shadowgray396 03-02-2013 05:10 PM

Had the Chevelle out for 2 more runs today. Taking short runs to see how everything sounds and drives. Took it over and had the electrical check to make sure everything is working correctly. Time to get it to an alignment shop now that everything is torqued down. Hard to believe I only have 55 miles on it since last July when I finished most of the major stuff. Still have some electrical to sort out so all my guages will work correctly.

Ms Grumpy 03-02-2013 05:18 PM

Ray, it's really not hard to think that you only have 55 miles on it since last July. When the car is finished, you take it out and put a couple miles on it, then take it back to the garage and tweek a few things. Then do that over and over again. And then there are times that the weather doesn't cooperate. I am just glad that you are able to get it out not. I am waiting on the weather so that I can get mine out of storage.

shadowgray396 03-02-2013 05:24 PM

It only had 30 miles on it up til today. Trips have been getting longer and I have been driving it faster and harder each trip. It gets up and flat out moves when you get on it. Once the alignment is done it's time for a few hundred mile drive. It's a blast to drive so it will not be sitting this summer.

Ms Grumpy 03-02-2013 05:38 PM

So by the end of summer your number will have a few zeros behind it. :) I hope to be right there with at least a few thousand miles on mine this summer. It sat for so long with the transmission problems last year. Finally got it fixed with just enough time to put her away for the winter.

fleming23 03-29-2013 01:55 PM

I decided to see if my 15" SS wheels would fit over the rear disc calipers today....

Nope, of course they don't. :( I knew it might be close and was hoping through some grinding I might be able to manipulate them to work, but it isn't even close. The wheel won't even go onto the studs.

Guess it was a good thing I like the Billet Specialties on the car but I was really hoping it would work so I could switch back and forth. Especially on longer trips, like the Power Tour this summer.

carpoor 03-29-2013 01:59 PM

Just reread your post, sounds like very few 15" wheels will clear those calipers. That is a bummer.

mino65 03-29-2013 05:03 PM

took the rear apart for new gears, yesterday i installed the new trans.

Ms Grumpy 03-29-2013 07:19 PM

I am dying here. Yesterday was in the 50's and my son asked when we were going to get the Chevelle out of storage. I just want the weather to get a little more consistant. Yeah, I know I am talking about Michigan, one minute it is snowing and the next minute it is 75 degrees. But really, I need to do a major cleaning on the garage before I bring my car home.

carpoor 03-29-2013 08:35 PM

I feel your pain, I really want to get back to work on my car. But I have this Monte Carlo situation to deal with... among other things. Add in that I promised my father I would dedicate 95% of my time to his truck. I have no idea when I'll get to it. :(

fleming23 03-30-2013 03:05 PM

I worked at the speed shop today, helping strap & unstrap cars for a dyno day.

As the very last car, I pulled the Chevelle onto the rollers....

Car made its highest #s to-date, 554.18hp, 560.80tq!!
All that still through a 4L80, solid mounted flex-a-lite fan, mechanical fuel & water pumps, A/C & Power steering!

Next..... Well, tomorrow morning I am taking the ramp truck to go look at a 71 Stingray so next might be a new project ;)

shadowgray396 03-30-2013 09:55 PM

Worked on the Chevelle today. Retorque the frontend and put in all the cotter pins in all the castle end. Adjusted the head lights tonight and check why my temp gauge is not working correctly. Looks like it starts at 250 and goes past the end. Wonder if it got put back together incorrectly. Not going to pull the gauges until this fall now.

Also looked at a set of 15x8 rallys wheels with the short caps for the Chevelle today as a extra set.

You sure it is not grounding out?

shadowgray396 03-30-2013 10:08 PM

Pulled the wire off and it should go to cold, it doesn't stays around 250, touched it to ground and it spins way past the end to the bottom middle of the gauge. So it seems to work not in the correct area it should. It makes me mad since all my gauges were worked on before I put them in.

fleming23 03-31-2013 12:57 PM

Brought home project #2 today. Well, didn't bring it home but brought it to the speedshop and dropped it off.

I'll post some photos in a different thread so as not to pollute the "chevelle" thread. At least it is still a chevy!

grandsport 03-31-2013 01:53 PM

Nothing wrong with a Corvette.Spent the day cleaning up the baby's room.Going to be a long wait until September.Buying a 13 6 speed to play with until then.

shadowgray396 03-31-2013 03:16 PM

Managed to clock up another 25 miles on the Chevelle today and got it up to 60 on the open highway. Drives straight and so far all seams to be working mechanically the way it should.
Just electrical things seem to be most of my issues.

flash 04-01-2013 11:43 AM

Now that the weather has turned for the better I need to get Joan's vert back together ,maybe today after work I can do a little.

Stormer 04-01-2013 03:07 PM

Me and my little Gabriel (8 years old) had a very nice suday night with Chevelle.
Movie (Jack the Giant Slayer), hot dogs, french fries and, after, a long time just cruising by the city with Chevelle...niiiice!:D

flash 04-01-2013 03:36 PM

Sounds like a fun time .

earthquake68 04-09-2013 12:54 PM

Today I replaced some interior doors on the house and managed to cover the Chevelle in saw dust from trimming the doors down. :(

I'll get back on her soon and get everything buttoned up for cruising season.

flash 04-09-2013 01:40 PM

Would like to take ours for a ride today after work but probably not going to happen as I have a Dr's appointment at 6:20 to see if I have something in my eye . Maybe tomorrow I can go for another ride.

BillsCamino 04-09-2013 02:56 PM

Started installing the new interior into the '72 wagon. The carpet arrived this afternoon!! :)
Drove the '70 for lunch...

fleming23 04-09-2013 03:44 PM

I don't even want to open the garage until all this pollen nonsense is done!

Ms Grumpy 04-09-2013 04:28 PM

I did open my garage, but nothing is in there except the bench seat from the Astro. Really am missing my car.

flash, I hope everything is OK with your eye.

flash 04-09-2013 07:41 PM

Doctor told me it looked fine and quit using eye drops ,I think he lost his mind.
