Hank, don't forget that that sun is very extreme this year.

Ms Grumpy 07-07-2014 07:52 PM

Hank I have to ask if you got a call from DTE thanking you for your patience with the power outage. We did and we never lost power.

It was pretty muggy today, and of course I decided to do some yard work. I had my grand daughter here and she was so full of energy I had to try to find someway to wear her out. But an 8 yr old has endless energy. She wore me out after having her for 4 days this grandma is tuckered.

Hank70SS 07-08-2014 09:58 AM

No call from DTE, just glad they got the power back on. Seriously looking at a Honeywell 15KW automatic standby generator at Costco. $3,500. Have to find out what installation would cost but I'm considering it. We lose power too often and the small portable generator is getting to be a pain.

flash 07-08-2014 11:11 AM

Hank, I would love to have a generator like you are thinking about getting ,we have one on campus here for the presidents home and it seems to do a great job when needed .

shadowgray396 07-10-2014 11:02 PM

Looks like the east half of the US will have unseasonable cool weather next week and the west coast is expect to be around 100. It's called the Polar Vortex. Our heat wave starts Friday and will run for the next week.

flash 07-11-2014 06:26 AM

Our weather has been better lately ,hot but with much less rain ,I like it.

I'd love one too. The people behind us have one, Two neighbors across the side street have them. Guy around the corner just ordered one and there are others scattered around the neighborhood. The portable generator does the job, if you have gas. Hard to keep the 5 gallon jugs full when you have to cut the grass every 4-5 days. Going out to fill it and hook it up in the rain or a foot of snow isn't a lot of fun either.

shadowgray396 07-12-2014 09:03 AM

Heat wave is here for the next week or so. Going to be around 100 til wednesday.

Our high on Tuesday is supposed to be in the 60's?

Ken Hayes 07-13-2014 09:49 AM

We were supposed to get nailed with a hell of a storm during the night last night..........didn't happen. All we ended up with was just a shower. Today was supposed to be that same storm.....dry and just overcast.........oh well not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth.

chevymaher 07-13-2014 10:49 AM

90 degrees and high humidity so far. Family reunion and a church festival at the same place. Jr don't know it yet but he is looking forward to riding ferris wheels and other stuff.
We get there at 3 and T-Storms scheduled for 4 on. So if we get some rides in early. Once the rain starts we can sit eat and chew the fat with everybody.
Just trying to make the best of it.

shadowgray396 07-13-2014 03:18 PM

Lighting and thunder with rain just moved in. Drop the temps to around 70's

flash 07-17-2014 08:22 PM

Our weather the last two days has been great ,low humidity and temps in the 80's ,more like a september day than July.

Ms Grumpy 07-17-2014 10:33 PM

We have had some beautiful days here too. Low to mid 70's low humidity, just beautiful. Gave me a chance to get caught up with some yard work.

shadowgray396 07-19-2014 10:17 PM

We are not used to having days in the 90's all the time. We have already had more 90 degree days this year then we have all summer. We only get about 10 a year. Most of the time we stay in the 80's.

flash 07-19-2014 10:29 PM

Today was a mostly rainy day with temps very nice in the low 70's ,just very light rain. More rain expected for the next week.

Ms Grumpy 07-20-2014 08:28 PM

Another nice day today and I was stuck doing things for hubby and not taking my car out. :(

Ken Hayes 07-20-2014 09:02 PM

Went to a show in Farmington then off to Bakers.

shadowgray396 07-29-2014 09:04 PM

This is over the top today. You think I moved to Phoenix Az. This is in Oregon, did someone move the state? Going to be like this all week.

flash 07-29-2014 09:07 PM

We are having lower humidity and temps in the mid 80's with some very nice breezy days ,Im loving it.

Ms Grumpy 07-29-2014 09:34 PM

Temps have been pretty nice for the past few days. Just random downpours.

shadowgray396 07-30-2014 06:44 PM

Another 104 day, but humidity is only at 25%

flash 07-30-2014 11:38 PM

Our weather has been wonderful lately ,cool temp of 59 degrees this morning ,very low for July .

shadowgray396 08-01-2014 06:50 PM

Day 6 of over 100 degrees, with no end in site. I'm working till next thursday in this stuff. It was 74 at 5:30 this morning when I went to work.

shadowgray396 08-04-2014 07:35 AM

Looks like another week of 100 degree temps. Fires are burning now all over the west coast area. We had thunder and lighting storm come through saturday night.

mestorod70 08-04-2014 10:16 AM

98 Dees grees constant showers and thunder storms.
Humidity at 75% is it mid September yet.

shadowgray396 08-07-2014 08:30 AM

Finally heading home where it has been around 80 this week. spent the last 10 days working in 100 plus degree days. I beat and ready to go home.

BillsCamino 08-07-2014 09:32 AM

Seems to ALWAYS get hotter weather here AFTER the kids go back to school. :(
Mid 90s today...

flash 08-07-2014 11:10 AM

Hot and sticky here today.

Hank70SS 08-07-2014 05:09 PM

Humidity is down temps close to 80, finally some nice weather. We had over a week of storms in the afternoon after things heated up.

Ms Grumpy 08-07-2014 09:19 PM

The weather has been really nice for the garden. Huge cucumbers and tomatoes when I got back from the NOCC show. I am just hoping that we have nice weather for the next 2 weeks. Let's make it past the WWDC and Back to the Bricks.

Hank70SS 08-08-2014 05:08 PM

Yup, another perfect day. Went with Lynda to Milford Memories, was getting a little warm near the end. Probably walked 2 miles but couldn't ask for a nicer day.

BillsCamino 08-08-2014 06:09 PM

Pretty noisy storm come thru here this afternoon...heavy rain, lots of boom-booms and tornado sirens.

flash 08-08-2014 08:16 PM

We didnt get the tornado sirens up here but lots of thunder and rain .

Ms Grumpy 08-08-2014 09:12 PM

I just turned my air off because it is supposed to get down to 55 tonight. Nice sleeping weather. Then it should be around 80 for the next few days. David and I were sitting on the porch tonight and he said it felt like a September night.

carpoor 08-08-2014 10:38 PM

Hot and humid... no end in sight. :(

shadowgray396 08-09-2014 10:48 PM

102 for Monday here, we have wild fires burning all over the state now. Extreme dry for us also.

Hank70SS 08-12-2014 08:52 AM

Yesterday was interesting. Over 6" of rain in some areas around Detroit. Took our son around 3 hrs to get home. He was on the Lodge freeway, had to get off because it was closed. Got on the Davison to try to get to I-96, had to get off. Made via surface streets to I-96 then had to get off. Took Plymouth Rd to Telegraph to M-5 and finally back to I-96.

I-696 and I-75 is still under water. The water in the underpass was up to the bridge, around 14'. Every freeway in the area was closed at some point due to flooding and many are still closed. Some may be closed for days while they move all the abandoned cars out and clean up the mud and crud on the freeway. I think they said 32 cars were under water just at the I-696 - I-75 interchange.

Hope no one in area had any basement flooding. We didn't get the heavy rains here, Livingston county was one of the few without flood warnings.

Ken Hayes 08-12-2014 11:19 AM

We live about 20 min from Detroit Metro Airport. Yesterday Judy and I had to pick up someone that came in from China. His plane was about 35 min late and it took us over 2 1/2 hrs to get back home. Got home to about 5" water in the basement. Spent around 4 to 5 hrs cleanin up that. Didn't get to bed till 3 this morning..........boy was I beat.

flash 08-12-2014 04:55 PM

We have been having the normal afternoon thunderstorms off and on but nothing like what ya'll are talking about .The worst thing we are dealing with is the high humidity ,very sticky out and about.
