Sorry to hear that Ken, a flooded basement is no fun. Had to clean one up at my mom's condo when she lost power and the sump pump wasn't running. Had to clean one up here when the pressure tank sprung a leak, we have well. In both cases the water was clean, no sewer backup but still a mess. Hope all is well now.

Still a lot of roads under water here, abandoned cars all over that place. Can't blame the owner's, can't go forward, can't back up, water rising. Leave it and save yourself.

On the news right now, they have divers looking for people trapped, no doubt dead, in their cars under water on the freeways.

This says it all

Mine wasn't any sewer water comin in (thank God). I have deep window wells in the back yard and one of them has a sump pump in it that stopped working, so the water seeped through..........guess I gotta get out the UGL Waterproofer Paint and give it another coat.

What a difference a day makes ,lower humidity and lower temps today .

flash 08-16-2014 08:33 AM

Our humidity is coming back but the morning temps have been wonderful here ,seems like fall in the mornings and back to summer in the evenings.

Hank70SS 08-17-2014 07:34 AM

Been like that here too. Upper 40's to low 50's overnight, feels like September not August. I think we've only used the AC a couple times all summer.

shadowgray396 08-17-2014 06:32 PM

They said the east side would have a cool summer and we would be hot. Looks like the weather person was right for once. We have been hot and dry now for over two months. My water bill has been higher then it has every been.

Ms Grumpy 08-17-2014 09:45 PM

I am wondering what this fall is going to bring with the cool summer we have had. Usually August is in the high 80's and 90's. We have been in the 70's and low 80's. I just am hoping that what Mother Nature does this winter is nothing like last winter.

shadowgray396 08-17-2014 11:30 PM

From what I have read it might be another cold winter on the east coast to midwest. Most likely not the record snow fall you had last year.

Ms Grumpy 08-24-2014 06:45 AM

It has been pretty humid around here lately. The temps have been in the high 70's and low 80's. Today should be in the low 80's again with lots of humidity. Usually August in Michigan is in the 80's-90's. We should hit the 90's for a day or two this week and then back to the low 70's.

I don't know if everyone else is having some really strange weather also.

Yep been 90's and humid here to. I told mom when I was working on her house she was killin me. She was putting me behind in my car work so it would be done now during the dog days.
I was rubbing it in last time she was here looking at the garage and car. I said see it would be done already if i wasn't doing your house. Now i am stuck waiting on the rain.

flash 08-24-2014 08:47 AM

The heat and humidity has been almost unbearable .

Hell yeah!!
Was out in the shop last night working on that '65 convert. I was soaked. Finally had to quit around 10pm.

shadowgray396 08-24-2014 09:47 AM

Work moved me from 100 temps on the east side of the state to up north by Seattle. About 75 and sun each day, so much nicer.

carpoor 08-24-2014 03:59 PM

Have been having the hottest days this year. It's BRUTAL, so glad I do not work outside anymore.

chevymaher 08-24-2014 04:06 PM

Outside thermometer says 100 degrees and it feels like it to. But the rain is gone and sky is clear. For Now.

Ms Grumpy 08-24-2014 05:55 PM

Today didn't start out bad it was overcast and 70 when I left the house at 9am. Most of the morning wasn't bad but then the sun came out and it was so humid and in the mid 80's. Poor David was with me and was starting to get sick about 2;30pm so I headed home from the cruise.

flash 08-24-2014 06:00 PM

We did not leave the comforts of the A/C today even though the temps were lower .

Ms Grumpy 08-31-2014 07:38 AM

Another hot and humid day expected here in Michigan. High in the upper 80's with miserable humidity. Just let it rain. Don't hear me say that much.

flash 08-31-2014 08:32 AM

It was hoy and humid here yesterday too ,finally rained late around 9 PM .This morning is foggy and very humid and sticky already.

chevymaher 08-31-2014 08:52 AM

It hasn't been nothing but hot and rain since the other day.

shadowgray396 08-31-2014 01:56 PM

Dry and hot here in Califorina since I got here on Friday. Running in 70 degree weather at 5:30 in the morning.

Ms Grumpy 09-05-2014 07:47 PM

Just lost transformer near my house. No power for the past hour. Doesn't look like I will be going anywhere til power is back.

Ken Hayes 09-05-2014 10:15 PM

My computer room is fine..........rest of the house is in brown-out mode. No A/C sux big time.

shadowgray396 09-05-2014 11:03 PM

95 here in Oregon for the next 3 days. Very dry and we are in what they call in the red zone for fire danager. We have not had any rain since early July.

Hank70SS 09-08-2014 10:01 AM

It was miserable in Frankenmuth on Friday, temp and humidity both through the roof. Lot of bad storms in the state, hundreds of thousands lost power. Guess we were lucky it was north and south but missed Frankenmuth. Fortunately Saturday was nice and we covered pretty much the whole park looking at the cars.

Ms Grumpy 09-09-2014 08:21 PM

Another wicked storm is supposed to roll through here in the next few days. Would someone please tell Mother Nature that we are really tired of the weather.

chevymaher 09-09-2014 09:01 PM

It has been unseasonably nice and cool here. I been working outside on the durbango.

flash 09-09-2014 09:05 PM

It has been hot and humid here for weeks .

Ms Grumpy 09-10-2014 05:55 PM

The Detroit schools let the kids out 2 hours early today with the anticipation of another bad storm. Most of the High School kids take public transportation to go home, they don't use the district busses to transport them.
My kids were mad because they had a full day.

We had a lot of rain earlier, now it is just windy. Let's just hope that this storm moves out of here quickly.

chevymaher 09-10-2014 06:08 PM

Sittin in my van playing on the internet. Waiting for Jr's religion class. It is real windy here. Supposed to rain all night till tomorrow afternoon. Looks like it to.

flash 09-10-2014 08:24 PM

This makes 2 days in a row here with no rain but its still hot .

Hank70SS 09-14-2014 04:55 PM

A week Friday it was 94 or 95 when we were in Frankenmuth. Yesterday, high of 56, this morning, 42 when I got up. I think it got to the low 60's today, average is low to mid 70's. You can say what you want about global warming but I think they're right about global climate change. The extremes are a lot more extreme than they use to be, of course I can only remember back to last year so who knows.

grandsport 09-14-2014 04:58 PM

I would enjoy full sun with 90 degree temps and big humidity all year long!!!!Waving

flash 09-14-2014 06:27 PM

It was brutal here yesterday ,very hot and humid and I had to work for Football but Im thankful I was not having to wear all that football garb ,I know that had to be torture. Today has been mostly cloudy and cooler .

shadowgray396 09-14-2014 10:27 PM

90 today and 94 tomorrow here.

shadowgray396 09-18-2014 11:56 PM

Little rain the last few days, back to almost 90's for the weekend.

Ken Hayes 09-19-2014 09:03 AM

70 Today and sunny.
80 Tomorrow sunny, rain late
70 Sunday maybe a chance of rain
All next week, no rain, mid 60's through mid 70's.

flash 09-19-2014 11:20 AM

Last couple days has been pretty nice with lower temps and low humidity and nice cool nights .

BillsCamino 09-21-2014 07:54 AM
