Good for you flash. I know that the rain has made it hard for you to get out.

Ms Grumpy 06-15-2013 08:32 PM

Carpoor, you have been getting so much done. I wish that I could say the same.

flash 06-15-2013 09:35 PM

Tomorrow night me and the Chevelle are extras in the filming of the movie, Need for Speed! Not sure what exactly will be happening except that they are filming from sunset until sunrise. Should be fun I hope! Maybe there will be a 1.2 second glimpse or green blur of my car in the movie :)

flash 06-18-2013 03:38 PM

Congrats on the trophy ,its well deserved .

Well I finally got my springs, and they will be on tomorrow. When I went to the UPS store to pick them up the girl behind the counter asked me to come to the back. She wanted to make sure that I wanted to accept my package. I asked her why and she showed me, the package was ripped open on two sides. Not a little, but from corner to corner. I know that Summit gave me a deal, cause grumpy shopped around and got them to price match. But to not put any packing in the box was stupid. I was in a panic when I saw the box, but after taking them out the side of the box, and examining them, I was fine with taking them.

Then I got home, made dinner, and took my car out for a ride. It is soooo dirty, but I know that it will get dirtier tomorrow so I will just have to give it a good bath in the next few days. I will take some before and after pics tomorrow so I can get your input.

Yeah, it is supposed to be a "car show"

When they called and gave me all the details they said not to mention the "r-word" and that this was the last night of filming in Georgia so they are moving forward as if the weather is showing 0% percipitation.

flash 06-21-2013 11:17 AM

Got to get started charging up the A/C today in case we have rainy weather during our travels next week ,hopefully when I get home today.

shadowgray396 06-21-2013 09:28 PM

Car gets an alignment tomorrow finally.

The guy who was going to do it today, took the day off so no alignment again.

shadowgray396 06-22-2013 03:13 PM

Waxed and cleaned up the chevelle and took a cruise in it today. Was going to a car show tomorrow, but looks like it's going to be raining.

BillsCamino 06-22-2013 04:21 PM

Drove the wagon to a local brunch cruise this morning.
The more I drive this wagon, the more I like it...rides great, handles super, and is QUIET!!!
THE quietest Chevelle I've ever owned...just may have to leave this one factory stock. ;)

flash 06-22-2013 06:20 PM

Been getting the vert ready for Maryland and about to go cruising .

Ms Grumpy 06-22-2013 07:25 PM

Have fun flash, and give the Mrs a hug for me. Can't wait to see you in Ohio.

flash 06-22-2013 10:13 PM

Come to Maryland and hang out with us ,we wont be working at this show ,not sure exactly how to act not working a show.

carpoor 06-23-2013 06:24 PM

Yesterday, while I was waiting for my help to show up - I stuck the other exhaust pipe on my car. It is done underneath, save for the drive shaft and drive shaft loop.

I need to hunt down a proper water neck, buy a fan clutch, and either get the alternator rebuilt or do it myself. Then I can assemble the rest of the engine bay and get it running.

shadowgray396 07-01-2013 07:40 PM

Took the car out yesterday, lost the dash lights on the way home. Worked on the Chevelle tonight, blew a fuse on the dash lights?? Found a leak on the front seal of the differental, right front front brake line is leaking and the rear main on the engine is leaking oil. All in only 150 miles. You got to be kidding.

flash 07-01-2013 08:43 PM

We drove the vert from Maryland to Hickory ,North Carolina ,it took all day ,boy am I beat.

69chevelless 07-02-2013 11:01 AM

Drove her to work last week for the first time in over a year.

SS Shaun 07-02-2013 12:31 PM

installed fender wells, gas cap, gas/plate door, turn signal lever, battery tray. now my engine bay looks like an engine bay :)

shadowgray396 07-03-2013 10:19 PM

Loading the car for a car show tomorrow. Was going to drive it, but with the pinion seal leaking I don't want to chance it.

Are you sure it's the pinion seal and not just leaking from the yoke splines? You're supposed to use a little RTV on the splines during assembly.

Not sure, I will have to check it out. Still going to the show today, car will just be on the trailer for the 60 mile drive.

69chevelless 07-04-2013 09:39 AM

I drove mine to pick up my son at his friends house yesterday and the dad loved it.

carpoor 07-04-2013 04:29 PM

Ray - find some AT-205 and add it to anything that has oil. It is truly miracle in a bottle.

Today... I cleaned, repainted, and installed the radiator. Installed the thermostat and housing. Installed the upper and lower radiator hoses. I think the upper hose is going to need to be trimmed to fit properly. (look at the pictures, you'll see what I mean) Installed the valve cover to air cleaner elbow in the passenger side valve cover. (aftermarket elbow + factory valve cover = a lot of four letter words to get it installed) Installed the shifter handle, but didn't reassemble the rest of the console yet. Installed a new throttle cable too. Then I made a list, and proceeded to spend $200 in about 30 minutes, between three different vendors.

I expected to get more done, but spent a lot of time looking for things and cleaning parts. I took the distributor and parts home with me today, going to try and get that all put together in my spare time.

Anyhow, pictures of how the car sits as of 2pm today...

today I installed Ridetech 2" drop spindles, and custom coil springs in the rear. also clearanced the rear wheel wells for the new tires. my next day off, I'll get the ignition system and fuel regulator buttoned up

SS Shaun 07-04-2013 09:07 PM

cleaned around it to make sure all the tools are back in its place. then bolted in the shifter in place

RBeckman 07-05-2013 08:55 AM

Going out to Tony's if he is home to get the steering wheel so I can drive it.

SS Shaun 07-05-2013 09:12 AM
