Looks much better Justin!

I changed my hood hinges this weekend. As most are aware, the factory hinges leave....much to be desired. They work but even new, just don't provide the stability when closing that I would like.

Last week I ordered a set of gray billet hinges form Ring Brothers and if I ignore the cost, I am very happy! I didn't want polished or annodized black so these gray (really more silver than gray) hinges were exactly what I wanted!

These hinges do not flex so when closing the hood closes squarely every time. When opening, I can pull the hood release and the popping action alone is nearly enough to raise the hood all by itself. I can use a single finger and guide the hood the rest of the way up.

There are a number of vendors that make these. Mine came from Ring Brothers as seen here - http://ringbrothers.com/1970-1972-ch...frame-547.html

Price depends on the vendor and options selected, starting at sacrificing your first born child and goes up to a lifetime of indentured servitude so take your pick.

I love those hinges also. But, my first born child is 29, not sure if they would take her. lol

took off the old leather from the rear seats and getting it ready to be blasted since the lower frame has a lot of rust on it :)

Nope.
Shame y'all missed it...beautiful evening!! Yes crowded but still manageable. We parked down by the old post office.
Also took the wagon to the Bojangles cruise Friday night...really enjoying those cooler nights!! Finally.

Ms Grumpy 09-16-2013 05:43 PM

I had a big get together for the audio geeks this weekend and pulled my car out of the garage. These guys want to get at the electrical outlets to run their equiptment and I didn't want them walking around the car multiple times.

So I warm the car up and take it around the block. When I get back in front of my driveway I decided to have some fun and did a pretty good burn out. I took off down the street where one of my neighbors flagged me down. When I stopped he was clapping his hands and said "I didn't know she had it in her". Almost everytime that I saw Arnie, my neighbor, I was just heading out and never really got on it.

A little while later, one of my friends at the party told me that she was in the kitchen earlier when she heard some asshole doing a burnout outside. I told her that was me ! I was the asshole......

carpoor 09-16-2013 06:21 PM

You should have told her that it takes one to know one. ;)

SS Shaun 09-16-2013 08:08 PM

put on my fenders and and tried my best to get them aligned the best i could. now tomorrow put the hood on and get on the interior :)

Eric 09-16-2013 08:47 PM

Hey Ms Grumpy, we need to get that thing to the track and do some proper burnouts and get a better ET than we did at Chevellebration. What do you think?

mestorod70 09-17-2013 08:13 AM

Did someone say burnout.????
Tires had too much tread...lol

flash 09-20-2013 07:40 PM

I was sitting at work today during my lunch break and decided I needed to go home and get the vert out .I made it back to work with 1 minute to spare ,then when Joan got home from work we went for dinner in it .

carpoor 09-20-2013 08:09 PM

I really miss having my father's green 72' around as a "spare", to drive while mine is under construction.

shadowgray396 09-22-2013 05:48 PM

Disconnected the battery and covered the car for the winter. Doesn't look like it will get driven must with all the rain now.

flash 09-22-2013 06:07 PM

We took the vert out cruisin today ,great day for it .

SS Shaun 09-22-2013 07:43 PM

SS Shaun 09-22-2013 07:43 PM

http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...psc7419c12.jpg
so i had a lot of fun today

fleming23 09-23-2013 08:55 PM

Well mine is getting fuel injection

Ordered a Fast EZ-EFI 2.0 kit, Rick's Stainless Fuel Tank & Walbro 400lph in-tank pump.

I will recoup some of my money by selling the old parts but it looks like I wasn't too far away from buying an entire new motor just for the cost of this swap, granted the Rick's tank was a large chunk.

Good/Bad thing is the EZ-EFI 2.0 supports nitrous.....and now I have a fuel pump that will support it......yeeehaw!

flash 09-23-2013 09:14 PM

So what parts are you selling ?

Everything just sold on TC a minute ago.

Still have an MSD Billet HEI Distributor and my new/old fuel tank that I haven't listed but that is about all that is left.

fleming23 09-25-2013 07:52 PM

I seem to be going in the wrong direction.....

flash 09-26-2013 11:43 AM

When I get home from work today I am going to wash the vert and get it packed for our trip to Charlotte for the Carolina Chevelle Show .

BillsCamino 09-26-2013 12:01 PM

Gave mine a bath this morning...loading up the wagon tonight and heading to NC in the morning...meeting up with two other Chevelle Owners along the way. Bowtie smiley
Kinda glad I've got a wagon...all this stuff wouldn't fit in a trunk. My wife does the car pics for this show.
