lol great thread! what i usually do with the rx7
drive it to the external garage behind the house. hit the kill switch on the battery plug in the battery tender. put in dryer sheets in the cabin and trunk put some kitty litter around the car (keeps the mice out) sta-bil in the tank close the door leave it until spring.
this spring tho the rx7 is going to get some loving i need to pull the motor out and replace it or rebuild it since spun a bearing :( the chevelle will stay in the main garage and get the same treatment minus the kitty litter...lol

I have always heard that Bounce dryer sheets work best to keep mice out. Also heard that Irish Spring soap works too. Just take a knife and cut slices of the soap and put them in the car.

Gonna drive it over to a heated building on Friday, Stabil in tank, disconnect battery, put the cover on it and wait til March when I get it out and bring it back home. The building I use is a Police towing company and city impound yard so theres someone there 24/7. Plus they have a few cats to take care of the mice.

Last year there was a little dust on the car but it blew off on the way home.

Un cooked rice acts as a desicant and will absorb mosture and odors.
most gun safe desicant systems also work great in cars.
moth balls keep the rats and mice away in the engine compartment.

Not sure about the Moth balls. One you get that smell it just doesn't seem to go away. I do like the uncooked rice idea, but doesn't that attract animals ?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I will think of you when I am spending 20 minutes trying to get the layers of ice off of my van. Or I will just hit the remote start on the little car and when it is warm I will go out and get in it. lol

The place I store mine is an old grocery store warehouse. They have a great ventilation system and if anyone was going to try to steal mine, it is the furthest away from the exit door. Or at least it will be, I still haven't dropped it off, hoping to do so in the next week.
