I all I can say is WOW, what a great place you got. I'm sure you being a plumber and Doug a builder helped things go faster, still you old farts got a lot of work done.

I second that ! lol

Not much going on down there in Florida. The electrician has been hitting it pretty good. We are having the kitchen cabinets custom made by River Valley Cabinets in Frankenmuth Michigan. The wood is alder wood, from Colorado. All one inch thick, dovetailed, soft close drawers and doors.

That's going to look nice.

Hank70SS 07-13-2014 08:05 AM

I like the look of that wood, nice grain.

RBeckman 07-13-2014 10:22 AM

Nothing but the best for our friend Tony, that's why we are his friends as he demands nothing but the best

FlintTony 07-13-2014 06:43 PM

Thanks Ray, I think it will look pretty decent too.

That is the second batch they ordered for the doors and drawer faces Hank. The first one didn't have enough knots in it. Well. it had plenty for me, but not for Kathy. She picked the wood and the stain. My input was American wood and hardware only. The 3/4 plywood is manufactured over by Grand Rapids, using only American wood. The hardware is made in Iowa.

You the man Ric! Drag your as on up here and have a couple of cold beers. Bring Hank and the crew too. How's the crummy-assed, no clock workin, Camaro running? Have you had your Chevelle out?

Anybody hear from Ray Barnes this summer?

I'm having a hell of a time finding American made light fixtures. The ones I have found are priced at 5 times the price of imported shit. I'm going to start searching for Canadian made stuff in the morning. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Appreciate it.

And lastly, I feel out of place on a Chevelle site now that I don't have one.

flash 07-13-2014 06:55 PM

No need to feel out of place for not having a Chevelle ,you have a cool place in Florida .

Camaro is running good it good 40k on it now and have all the stuff to do a tune-up on it just have to read up on points and dwell since it's been over 30 years since I've messed with them.

I have been out of town for 4 of the last 6 weeks so I have not done anything to the Chevelle till today...I have put in the new tank, sending unit and lines in today's and just have to hook up lines and put gas in and see what else it needs..ha

Eric sold his Chevelle last week and pick this up from my neighbor and he is one happy guy. It is supercharged and a 175 hp shot of nitrous and wheelie bars that with the slicks on it they do work.

Is that 34 a steel or glass car?

It's glass, titled as a 34.

Ken Hayes 07-14-2014 10:56 AM

Think I've seen that car before. Fenders and running boards are glass, rest is steel.

I've seen him a couple of times. He's been redoing his kitchen. Floor, cabinets, counter top, back splash and new appliances. You know Ray, he's a perfectionist. His kitchen will be worth more than my whole house when he's done. Think I saw him heading up Old 23 on Sunday in his Chevelle, we were on our way home from Henry's new home.

Where did Henry end up buying at?

A few miles south of 59 off Old 23. He's on the west side across from Bitten Lake. If you know where Camp Tamarack is, it's the first street south of it. Ore Creek runs under 23 from Bitten Lake and across the back of his property.

My brother and the electrician worked on the wiring again today. Transformer went out on the brand new air conditioner. They got that fixed. The American made outside lights I found are real nice pieces. They just have to figure out how they are going to mount them. It was hot down there today, but they pulled over 1000 feet of wire. Most likely they won't get anything done for a few weeks now.
I lost a ton of my pictures I had stored on my computer that got stolen. I'm pissed.

carpoor 10-06-2014 06:34 PM

Almost ready to move in Tony?

FlintTony 10-06-2014 07:47 PM

They are pouring the driveway approach tomorrow. They have the garage and house ones done, sidewalks too. I'll post some pictures in the morning. I've been talking to insulation and drywall guys. Man, do I have some stories about these guys.

FlintTony 10-07-2014 06:45 AM

Some of the concrete work.

Looking good Tony. Hope you're there when we head to or leave Fl. We'll stop in Ocala and come see you.

Nice place you got there.

Looking good Tony .

FlintTony 10-07-2014 06:22 PM

Thanks guys. So far, I am real happy with the way it's coming along. They got the road approach poured today. I'll have the rest of the driveway done next. Going with the crushed concrete gravel stuff.

I like the way they formed for the concrete around the end of the drain pipe ,I think I will borrow that idea.

shadowgray396 10-07-2014 11:10 PM

Looking really good.

carpoor 10-09-2014 08:45 PM

Good stuff Tony, it's going to be great when finished.

Ms Grumpy 10-10-2014 09:08 PM

Wow. That is looking great. You have done a great job.

RBeckman 10-10-2014 09:16 PM

Can I send the Camaro down for winter storage?

Yep, but I'll need to drive it, ya know, to keep the cob-webs out.

No problem, it will need a clutch and the clock doesn't work so you may be late for dinner.

Whoa!!!!! Whatchoomean the clock doesn't work? No way in hell that I would drive it then. That's just foolish to even think about driving a Camaro without a workin clock! Sue the bastard that sold you that car!

:ntwrthy: THAT was good Beckman. I just spit water all over the break room.

carpoor 10-23-2014 09:44 PM

Great weather here lately Tony, how are things coming along?

FlintTony 10-24-2014 05:02 AM

Making progress. They spread the driveway gravel the last two days. It didn't smooth out as nice as I wanted, even after rolling it, so they are going to put a 2" cap of ground asphalt millings on to of it next week. The electrician is getting close to wrapping up the house and attached garage rough-in. That should be done this weekend.

FlintTony 10-24-2014 09:52 AM

Thanks John. I'm really wanting to get back down there. I have close to a thousand feet of fence to get done before the first of the year. I'm going to get the ag-exempt for around 10 acres. Made a deal with a guy to run a couple of cows on the 10.That should help a lot with the property taxes.

Great Job Tony...looks like a good place to visit in the winter after I retire. It sounds like we will have fresh beef.

Ric, I'm thinking that we can have our own little Frankenmuth camp-out. Yep, that is where Hank will park. As you can see it's on the other side of the shop. I don't think I could look at him for too long, hence he will be hidden from view. AC and sewer hook-up available for a nominal fee.
