****Latest Update****
Well since my 2nd Cardioversion I've been doing real good. Went to see my regular Cardiologist on 12/10/20 for a followup check. He looked at me and said, you look like you've lost a little weight.......yep, I've lost 56 lbs. I went from 216 down to 160. I havent weighed this in probably 30 years. (back to 168 now) Well looking at your EKG it looks great. How long have you been off the A-Fib? About 4 months now....how do you feel....It's a great feeling to have my heart back into a steady pace now........good deal, I'll see ya back here in 6 months. |
Good deal I need to loose alot of weight. Glad your doing better ol man. Not derogatory it is what my friends call each other.

Went and saw the Doc that gave me my 2nd Cardioversion in Aug last week. They did a EKG and said "I'M LOVIN THE RESULTS". Have you had any of the symptoms as before? Nope, no heart flutter or anything for over 7 months now, I feel great and have only put on 10 lbs........168 is too skinny for me....LOL.

***NEW UPDATE***
Well its been 1 year and 8 months A-Fib free....now I wish the rest of my body would straighten up. I went in 1 1/2 months ago for a CT Scan then had a Colonoscopy. Colonoscopy went good but he told me I have Diverticulitus and Kidney Stones. I saw my Urologist and he said I have between 50 and 60 stones with the largest one being just under 1" in diameter. Yesterday morning he put in a stent so I could pass some of the smaller ones....oh woopie !! I got home around noon and immediately started peeing blood, then pukin my guts out, then shittin bricks.....man what a night, up more than every hour on the hour to pee. My insides feel like they wanna blow out of my body it hurts so bad. He's supposed to call me first thing in the morning. I'm supposed to go in next Monday for him to laser out the larger stones. As of right now I've lost 9 lbs since yesterday. |
Wow. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully the can get you on the right track. I have heard that kidney stones is worst then having a baby. Be in our prayers things get better.

Well I lost a total of 13 lbs. I thought I was "Machine Gun Kelley" there for a while. The pukin stopped after 2 days but the blood continued till Sunday afternoon.
I went back in on May 10th for the laser surgery and to have the stent removed.....I told the guy that puts me under, that whatever you did last time...DONT DO IT AGAIN !! He tried a different thing and lower dosage and it wasnt too bad. Doc said one of my cavities in my kidney has a deformed opening and he couldnt get the laser in to zap the stone. Said it was a pretty good size one too. So we just gotta keep an eye out for it for now. If it gets worse, he'll make a small incision in my back and insert a tube to suck the stone out........I should just tell him to go for it now. |
Well I hope your doing better. I am not as far down the road as you are. But age is affecting me to. It sucks facing mortality for sure.
You said am i trying to break everything because of the motor i put in. I got 45 miles on it now. I actually never give it much gas. 1/4 pedal it is faster than my buddies 350 4 bbl 71 chevelle. That is fast enough for me. I just cruise doing the speed limit. My buddy says when you age the self preservation thing gets stronger. |
Here we go again
Well went and saw Orthopedic Surgeon yesterday. Said my knees are killing me. Took some xrays and said "you have no cartlege left in both knees". He is same Doctor that did my wifes hip and she swears by him. Said there a few options we could do....give me injections for quite a while, insert something in there or do a replacement.
Told Judy that I cant hardly walk anymore without them killing me so I'm going for the replacement.......fine by me. Gonna have the left one replaced July 13th, then do the right one in November. She asked about me working on the Chevelle....will he be able to kneel down on the new knees.....ABSOLUTELY HE CAN. Kool !! Oh BTW, got rid of almost all the stones.....still have one kinda large one left in one of the pockets of my left kidney that he couldnt get to. If it dont grow any no problem. If it does, he will do surgery by making small incission in my back and stick a tube in there to suck it out...very small cut. |
Big update
Well, went in and had Judys Doctor take care of my left knee with a full replacement on July 13th. The Doc is great, now you can hardly see any scar. He's very satisfied with the rehab PT that I'm doing and so is my therapist.
Only thing he didn't tell me before the surgery is: "that if your pretty bow legged (like I am) that the pain and recovery time will be extended by almost 3 times longer" as the leg has to fill in the void. I lost 22 lbs and now my left leg is the straighest its been in over 50 years. ' |

Pullin for you bud. As my best friend who past used to say. Getting old isn't for sissies. But it beats the alternative.

***UPDATE***
Well as of last Monday I finally got to put my left foot over my right knee to put my sock on without having to bend way over. It may not sound like no big deal but it was to me. I went to Frankenmuth Autofest in September and walked around for about 5 miles on grass, stones, hills and alot of uneven ground. This was done with no walker, crutches or cane. I kinda over did it cuz my knee was twice as big as it should be. Swelling went down in a couple of days. |
Congrats. I know how exciting that is for you using no walker or cane. I have a buddy in the same condition. He was thrilled to walk 1/16th of a mile down his driveway and back.

Well 2 weeks from today I'm going in to have my right knee replaced. I was supposed to have it done Nov 24 2023 but I was sick so rescheduled for Jan 24 2024. But had another set back so now its March 6th.
